On July 1st, Fast Technology reported that Huawei announced that the Apollo Version would be unveiled at the 16th Huawei User Conference to be held on July 5th!

The official warm-up poster shows that Apollo Version is the first 5G-A version based on the R18 protocol.

Recently, at the 104th meeting of 3GPP RAN (Radio Access Network) held in Shanghai, the 3GPP Release 18 (R18) standard was officially frozen.

In the past five years, the development of 5G technology has gone through three key standard versions: R15, R16, and R17. The R18 standard, which took more than three years from inception to freezing, is the first version of 5G-Advanced (5G-A/5.5G).

Compared with previous 5G technologies, the network performance of 5G-A is expected to achieve a tenfold increase, supporting higher data transmission rates and a wider connection range, with the downlink peak rate increasing from 1Gbps to 10Gbps and the uplink peak rate also increasing from 0.1Gbps to 1Gbps.
