According to reports from multiple media outlets, during the 2025 Changchun Air Show, which took place from September 19th to 23rd, Li Auto received a request from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as 'AVIC'). The request was for Li Auto to clarify and apologize for using unauthorized images of military aircraft models, such as the 'J-20, J-10, KJ-500', which fall under AVIC's purview, in its promotional posters.

On September 20th, the Aviation Industry Culture Center of China sent out an inquiry letter. The letter pointed out that Li Auto had utilized AVIC-related intellectual property (IP) without proper authorization. This action was suspected of constituting intellectual property infringement and false advertising. The center demanded the immediate halt of the dissemination of all infringing content, a public apology from Li Auto, and a clarification stating that there was no joint branding relationship between the two entities.

In response to this situation, Li Auto made a statement to the media. The company emphasized that due to the aviation-related nature of the issues at hand, it attached great significance to the matter. Upon receiving the letter and relevant images, Li Auto promptly suspended the promotions in question. The company also took the initiative to establish contact and engage in communication with the 'Brand Operation and Management Center of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China' and the 'Aviation Industry Culture Center of China' to carry out verification procedures.
Li Auto further explained that the 'National Dream, Family Journey' themed promotion mentioned in the inquiry letter was part of a cooperative project between Li Auto's Changchun sales company and the Changchun Air Show. The company released relevant event information centered around the air show theme. Prior to this, it had also communicated and confirmed with the Changchun Air Show regarding the use of this theme. Additionally, another image showing the 'Li MEGA alongside the main building of the Changchun Air Show' was taken on-site with the permission of the Changchun Air Show's operational service supplier. This image featured the support vehicle and the air show center building.
In response to Li Auto's statement, AVIC informed the media on the evening of September 24th that the brand center had never granted authorization for the use of AVIC aircraft models to the so-called air show service supplier. In essence, Li Auto had not obtained proper authorization for the images of military aircraft like the J-20. The company's claim of having 'communication and confirmation with the service supplier related to the Changchun Air Show' held no legal validity.
