On October 16, Liu Jiaming, CEO of Qijing Auto, announced on his Weibo account that after eight months of meticulous refinement, the design of Qijing's inaugural model has been finalized.

Liu Jiaming highlighted that nearly a hundred professionals from both the Huawei Milan Design Research Institute and the Qijing team were involved in the styling development of Qijing Auto. "This is a unique new car that has garnered admiration from both our young staff and senior executives, such as Huawei's Chairman Xu, who have experienced a wide range of exceptional vehicles."

In November of the previous year, GAC Group and Huawei signed a strengthened cooperation agreement, confirming the joint launch of the new high-end intelligent electric vehicle brand, "Qijing." On September 19 this year, the "Qijing" brand officially commenced operations. At that time, Huawei's Rotating Chairman Xu Zhijun emphasized their commitment to "sparing no effort in creating a high-end intelligent brand."

It is reported that the Qijing brand is strategically positioned to cater to young consumers, emphasizing core competencies such as intelligent driving and smart cockpits. It aims to set a new standard for "high-quality intelligent electric vehicles." GAC Group and Huawei intend to explore a hybrid sales model combining "direct sales + authorized dealerships," with priority given to GAC's Aion's existing network of over 600 stores and select Huawei experience stores for pilot participation. The first batch of city showrooms is anticipated to open in prime business districts of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and other major cities around the Spring Festival in 2026.

According to the plan, the first model of Qijing is scheduled to enter mass production and commence deliveries in 2026. Three additional models are projected to be launched before 2028, with an annual production capacity target of 150,000 units.

Regarding the product launch timeline, automotive bloggers have reported that Qijing is developing two mid-to-large-sized vehicles, F03 and F05, with expected launches next year. The mid-to-large-sized sedan, F03, is progressing more rapidly, while the mid-to-large-sized SUV, F05, will follow shortly after. The new vehicles are anticipated to be manufactured at GAC Aion's primary factory.

The completion of the design finalization for Qijing's first model establishes a robust foundation for its subsequent mass production.

Huawei has already collaborated with five automakers to create automotive brands such as AITO, Luxeed, STELATO, MAEXTRO, and SHANGJIE. What are your thoughts on the future prospects of Qijing?
