"Over the past 16 years, I've stood shoulder to shoulder with everyone, relentlessly pursuing our goals. Now, I'm taking a brief hiatus from BYD to recalibrate, seeking a fresh balance between my professional and personal life."
On October 24, Zhao Changjiang, the General Manager of the Direct Sales Business Division for BYD's Tengshi and Fangchengbao Brands, announced his departure via a personal social media post.

According to publicly available information, Zhao Changjiang joined BYD in 2009 as a Regional Sales Manager. By 2017, he had ascended through the ranks, transitioning from Deputy General Manager and Executive Deputy General Manager to the helm of BYD Auto Sales Co., Ltd., marking a remarkable 'triple promotion' in his career.
In 2021, Zhao Changjiang assumed the role of General Manager at Tengshi Sales Company, one of BYD Group's three flagship brands targeting the high-end market. He spearheaded Tengshi's operations until July of this year.
On July 3rd of this year, BYD officially rolled out an executive rotation program. Under this initiative, Zhao Changjiang, previously the General Manager of the Tengshi Sales Business Division, and Li Hui, the General Manager of the Tengshi Fangchengbao Direct Sales Business Division, exchanged positions.
At that juncture, Zhao Changjiang reflected, "Casting my mind back to 2022, when Tengshi embarked on its strategic transformation, I had the privilege of leading this daunting task. Today, we've triumphantly accomplished the objectives of our initial two phases, not only penetrating multiple domestic and international markets but also achieving remarkable milestones in brand recognition and sales volume." He further underscored, "Moving forward, I'm committed to excelling in my new capacity."
Nevertheless, merely three months into his new role, Zhao Changjiang confirmed his resignation. Speculation abounds regarding Zhao Changjiang's next career move post-BYD, with reports suggesting he may join Chery's Zhijie brand. However, Zhao Changjiang has yet to confirm this information.
Revisiting Zhao Changjiang's tenure at Tengshi, he oversaw the completion of the brand's channel development and marketing strategies, culminating in the creation of the highly acclaimed high-end new energy MPV model, Tengshi D9. This model outperformed the Buick GL8, clinching the title of the best-selling high-end MPV in 2023 with 120,000 units sold.
Subsequently, Tengshi unveiled a series of flagship products, including the N7, N8, Z9, and N9. Data reveals that from January to September this year, the Tengshi brand has amassed cumulative sales exceeding 110,000 units.
