On June 22, Geely Yuancheng, WeRide, and Kwoon Chung Bus Group, a leading transportation operator in Hong Kong, signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the 2026 International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo (Hong Kong).
The three parties will fully leverage their core strengths in new energy vehicle manufacturing, autonomous driving technology development, and public transportation operations management. Based on the existing factory-installed mass-produced Robotaxi GXR platform, they will jointly develop a native mass-produced Robotaxi model tailored for the right-hand drive market, with Hong Kong as the starting point for deploying commercial Robotaxi mobility services for this market segment.
The cooperation agreement was officially signed by Song Zhaohuan, Vice President of Geely Yuancheng New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, Li Yifan, Vice President of WeRide, and Wong Cheuk Tim, Executive Director of Kwoon Chung Bus Group, on behalf of the three parties. Fan Xianjun, CEO of Geely Yuancheng New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, Han Xu, Founder and CEO of WeRide, and Wong Leung Pak, Chairman of Kwoon Chung Bus Group, jointly witnessed the signing ceremony.
This collaboration marks the first time the Robotaxi industry has transitioned from 'regional capabilities' to 'global adaptability,' bringing revolutionary autonomous driving solutions to the global right-hand drive mobility market.
It is expected to provide a Demonstration sample (demonstration model) for Chinese autonomous driving technology and intelligent connected vehicle products to enter global right-hand drive markets such as Singapore, the UK, Japan, and Australia. Geely Yuancheng and WeRide have a strong foundation for in-depth cooperation in mass-producing Robotaxis and commercial deployment.
In October 2024, the two parties jointly launched the new-generation mass-produced Robotaxi GXR based on Geely Yuancheng's Super VAN. Just four months later, it achieved fully driverless commercial operations in Beijing and commenced fully driverless commercial operations in Guangzhou in August 2025.
In March this year, Geely Yuancheng and WeRide signed a Deepen the agreement (deepened agreement) to release a newly upgraded factory-installed mass-produced Robotaxi GXR.
