11/13 2024 460

The 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show is about to open. As the last A-class auto show of the year, major automakers are preparing to showcase their strength at this grand event. The auto show will officially kick off on November 15, and many highly anticipated new cars will soon make their debut. In this issue, AutoDoor.com conducts a concentrated countdown of pure electric vehicles to see which model will become the new "darling" of the market?

1 Audi Q6L e-tron

Positioned as a mid-size SUV, the Audi Q6L e-tron is Audi's first pure electric vehicle specifically designed for the Chinese market in collaboration with FAW, based on the Porsche PPE platform. The car is built on the new Audi A6L platform and features a spatial layout and design concept tailored to the Chinese market. In recent years, Audi's pace in electrifying its product lineup has not been fast, but it has been steady. The Audi Q6L e-tron is an important step in Audi's electric vehicle strategy in China and one of the key products in Audi's continuous expansion of its new energy product line. It is reported that the new car will be produced at the Audi FAW plant in Changchun and will begin deliveries in 2025. Meanwhile, Audi will also share charging networks with Porsche. The momentum of Audi Q6L e-tron in new energy products will also prompt competition among luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz in a new race, driving a complete reshuffle of the luxury new energy vehicle market. As a member of the "6 series," can this first Audi SUV born from the PPE high-end pure electric platform create a new dynasty in the electric era like the once-popular Audi A6L? Time will tell.

2 AUDI E Concept Car

AUDI E is a luxury B-segment shooting brake under Audi's new electric vehicle brand audi, jointly created by Audi and SAIC. Like Bentley, Lamborghini, and SEAT, AUDI is a new sub-brand of the Audi Group, focusing on high-end pure electric vehicles. It is worth mentioning that Audi's new brand has shifted its competitors from Mercedes-Benz and BMW to new force brands such as NIO, Lixiang, and Zeekr. According to the plan, the audi brand plans to launch three pure electric vehicle models within the next three years, fully covering the B and C segments. The most significant difference in the new brand is the elimination of the classic "four rings" logo, replaced by the letter logo "AUDI." Industry insiders point out that as a new brand of cooperation between SAIC and Audi, AUDI can be distinguished from Audi's existing electric products. The change in the logo is also a way to reshape consumer perception using the new brand, breaking the stereotype that BBA electric vehicles are inferior brands. However, it should be noted that both domestic and overseas consumers have long recognized Audi's four rings. Whether the new logo can continue to enhance Audi's image in consumers' minds and add momentum after its launch depends on market acceptance and the product strength of this new car. That said, would you still buy an Audi without the four rings logo?

3 Volvo EX90

After its debut in 2022, the much-anticipated Volvo EX90 has finally arrived after several delays. Based on the SPA2 architecture, the Volvo EX90 is Volvo's first fully electric large SUV and can also be seen as the pure electric successor to the Volvo XC90. It is important to note that there are currently only a handful of locally produced luxury brand flagship pure electric models. The launch of the Volvo EX90 is a crucial step towards Volvo's strategic goal of achieving full electrification by 2025 and will help Volvo gain a first-mover advantage in the electrification of luxury brands.

4 LYNK & CO Z20

The LYNK & CO Z20 is the second pure electric vehicle under the LYNK & CO brand, positioned as a compact SUV. Built on the Geely Group's vast SEA platform alongside the Zeekr X, it is also the first pure electric SUV model under the LYNK & CO brand, with an expected price range of 160,000 to 200,000 yuan. Currently, the LYNK & CO brand has a total of 10 models, starting with the LYNK & CO Z10, which entered the pure electric market with a price range of 196,800 to 288,800 yuan. Its sales volume in the first month of launch was 2,819 units, which is not outstanding in the new energy vehicle market. Currently, the LYNK & CO Z20 will join forces with the LYNK & CO Z10 in the pure electric market to compete for market share. Upon launch, this model will also compete with the Zeekr X, smart #1 BRABUS, electric MINI, Volvo EX30, and other models. It is essential to note that the competition in the compact pure electric SUV segment is fierce. As the automotive market competition intensifies, LYNK & CO, which has been late to the pure electric vehicle field, will inevitably face significant challenges in the future.

5 Leapmotor B10

The Leapmotor B10 is the first B-platform model under the Leapmotor brand and also its first global model in the new B series. Leapmotor previously had models in the C and T series, with a total of five models on sale: T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, covering the mini car, mid-to-large car, mid-size SUV, and mid-to-large SUV segments, with a price range of 49,900 to 209,800 yuan, meeting the needs of different consumers. The launch of the B10 further enriches Leapmotor's product line and improves its product matrix. The Leapmotor B10, priced in the 100,000 to 150,000 yuan range, is expected to become a new growth point for Leapmotor's sales, helping it further increase its market share and sales volume.

6 Boxzi 3X

The Boxzi 3X is a compact pure electric SUV jointly developed by GAC Toyota and GAC Aion, based on Toyota's global standards. As the second model under GAC Toyota's Boxzi brand, the Boxzi 3X is the first end-to-end mapless autonomous driving vehicle, capable of full-scenario autonomous driving functions, enriching Toyota's product matrix in the Chinese market and filling the gap in this niche market. For Toyota, the GAC Toyota Boxzi 3X is a product deeply localized for the Chinese market and a key product in Toyota's push for new energy transformation. Over the years, Toyota's development in the pure electric vehicle field seems to lean more towards cooperation with other enterprises. Whether it's the bZ4X (Boxzi 4X) based on the Subaru Solterra, the FAW Toyota bZ3 developed in collaboration with BYD, or the upcoming GAC Toyota Boxzi 3X, these collaborations prove that in the fiercely competitive Chinese market, Toyota is aware of its shortcomings and is compensating for them through cooperation, bridging the competitive gap.
