Huawei once again captured everyone's attention during a nearly three-hour launch event.

The content was extremely rich, featuring foldable screens, new Extraordinary Master products, tablets, smartwatches, the new S7 smart device, and more, making it a dazzling spectacle.

Yu Chengdong's catchphrase has also changed, shifting from 'far ahead' to 'extremely powerful', leaving a deep impression.

Whether it's the Mate 70 series or the ZunJie S800, their product strength is undeniable. However, from Blackboard Jun's perspective, this time Huawei's numerous product launches are not just about the products themselves; what changes have occurred behind the scenes at Huawei?

01

New Products Bring New Supply Chains

Leading enterprises' continuous innovation in products can drive comprehensive advancements in upstream and downstream supply chains. Apple and Tesla are excellent examples of this.

Since the stunning return of the Mate 60 series last year, Huawei has once again accelerated its pace of innovation this year, with new products such as end-to-end ADS 3.0 autonomous driving, the tri-fold Mate XT smartphone, and HarmonyOS NEXT Intensive online launch , all backed by deep support from supply chain ecosystem enterprises.

Currently, there are 938 constituent stocks in the Huawei concept sector on Tonghuashun. With the new products from this launch event, many suppliers have also stood out.

For example, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro and Pro+ use a Red Maple original color sensor, enabling precise color and ambient light monitoring in various scenarios, thereby more accurately adjusting color temperature and white balance.

The supplier behind it may be GC Pixel. On the same day as the launch event, GC Pixel announced the successful mass production of its multi-spectral CIS solution, and its share price rose by 3.72% that day.

Founded in 2003, GC Pixel specializes in the production and research of CMOS image sensors and display driver chips, once ranking first globally in shipments. In recent years, GC Pixel has also focused on providing CMOS image sensors to Huawei and is developing CMOS for automotive assisted driving, continuously growing alongside Huawei.

The Huawei Mate 70 series also boasts nine AI functions, including AI AirDrop, which utilizes visual algorithms and UWB (Ultra Wide Band) wireless communication technology. Currently, there are not many companies in China deploying UWB, with the main players being Actions Semiconductor, Howay Technology, and Hi-Target.

Among them, ArcSoft replied to investor inquiries on November 25th, stating that based on years of research and development, the company can currently provide most mainstream smartphone visual AI algorithm products and technologies.

ArcSoft started by primarily providing image algorithm solutions for smartphones, serving major mobile phone manufacturers. Nowadays, it has also entered the AI era, providing one-stop visual solutions for smart devices such as smartphones, smart cars, and IoT.

The Huawei concept on Tonghuashun has also seen an exponential increase in the index since the tri-fold Mate XT launch event in September. Following in the footsteps of the leading enterprise Huawei, the supply chain companies behind it are indeed progressing while generating substantial revenue.

Clarification of the Four-Realm Structure

Another noteworthy aspect is Huawei's Smart Selection vehicle cooperation model, which can be seen as a model for global cooperative automaking.

Some say that currently, only AITO is doing well, while the others are not. Let's not rush; let's first consider the model.

Huawei does not manufacture cars but only cooperates, with three modes operating in parallel. Currently, the Smart Selection mode appears to be the most dynamic.

The component supply mode is relatively low-key; the Hi mode has already seen successful examples such as Changan Avita , BYD, and Lantu , with impressive sales of popular products, but it always feels like they are just dipping their toes in the water.

The Smart Selection mode encompasses four realms: AITO from Thalys, ZhiJie from Chery, XiangJie from BAIC, and ZunJie from JAC. They are deeply integrating equity, patents, pre- and post-sales through Huawei's Look up company, jointly forming a vast community with a valuation exceeding RMB 100 billion.

The four realms are currently divided by product type. AITO focuses on SUVs, ZhiJie targets young people with sedans and coupes, XiangJie focuses on executive-level sedans, and ZunJie even aims to compete with Rolls-Royce.

All car models integrate Huawei's autonomous driving, chassis, intelligent cockpit, and vehicle-machine interaction technologies.

For consumers, whether purchasing, driving, or after-sales service, it is no longer necessary to distinguish which company manufactured the car.

At the launch event, the exterior of the fourth realm's ZunJie S800 was finally revealed. With a body length of nearly 5.5 meters and a pre-sale price range of RMB 1 to 1.5 million, it undoubtedly challenges perceptions of the upper price limit for domestic cars.

Even with a RMB 20,000 deposit threshold, more than 2,000 orders were placed within 48 hours, marking a promising start for the ZunJie S800.

Among the four realms, AITO is undoubtedly the best model for ultimately unifying the four realms.

Thalys has been deeply cooperating with Huawei since 2018 and has gone through ups and downs. Nowadays, the AITO M7 has been the sales champion among emerging forces for 11 consecutive months, and the AITO M9, starting at over RMB 400,000, also exerts pressure on the Li Auto L9. In the first three quarters of this year, Thalys achieved a cumulative operating revenue of RMB 106.6 billion and a net profit of RMB 4.04 billion.

Yu Chengdong revealed that by 2025, pilot projects for parking spot-to-parking spot and highway L3 (autonomous driving level) will be realized, and by 2026, the ADS 4.0 version will enable commercial use of highway L3.

Currently, Huawei's autonomous driving computing power and algorithms are 'extremely powerful' in China, and the deeply integrated four realms are destined to reap the sweetest fruits.

The suspense lies in whether the products of the four realms can maintain a clear positioning without causing internal friction, and what strategic changes Huawei's three modes will undergo next.

Pure HarmonyOS Takes Small Steps Forward Quickly

Yu Chengdong confirmed at the launch event that the Huawei Mate 70 series will use HarmonyOS NEXT, which is the pure HarmonyOS previously discussed.

It can be seen that this time, Huawei is not being very aggressive.

The Huawei Mate 70 series will simultaneously offer versions pre-installed with HarmonyOS NEXT and HarmonyOS 4.3. Those who purchase the Mate 70 series pre-installed with HarmonyOS 4.3 can choose to upgrade to HarmonyOS NEXT later.

By leaving time and space for consumers to switch between the old and new systems, Huawei has chosen a small-step, fast-forward approach.

This indicates that even though Huawei has been promoting HarmonyOS for nearly a decade, a delicate balance between the market and self-built ecosystem still needs to be maintained.

HarmonyOS NEXT not only features exclusive AI functions for the Huawei Mate 70 series but also offers a 40% performance improvement. However, it still needs time to enhance the quality and quantity of its ecosystem.

Currently, HarmonyOS NEXT already has over 11,000 native applications and services, including popular software such as WeChat, QQ, Alipay, which have been launched and rapidly iterated.

However, compared to their Android and iOS versions, there is still a significant gap in maturity and functionality, which requires time to bridge.

Huawei is well aware of this issue.

Xu Zhijun, Huawei's rotating chairman, stated that the HarmonyOS ecosystem aims to reach 100,000 applications within the next six months to a year.

Yu Chengdong mentioned at the launch event that all new products in 2025 will come pre-installed with HarmonyOS NEXT, and there is a high likelihood that the dual-track approach of maintaining both HarmonyOS 4.X and HarmonyOS NEXT will continue.

According to Counterpoint, Huawei ranked second in China with a 16.4% market share in the third quarter, with an astonishing annual growth rate of 29.7%.

This rare comeback has been supported by Huawei fans with their hard-earned money. The still-immature HarmonyOS NEXT cannot yet be Huawei's only solution.

However, it is promising to anticipate that when HarmonyOS NEXT truly achieves a tripartite confrontation with Apple's iOS and Google's Android, Huawei and its supplier partners will embark on a new journey.
