Huawei hosted a HarmonyOS Intelligent Drive new product conference.
On April 16, Huawei convened a new product conference focused on HarmonyOS Intelligent Drive. Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of Huawei and Chairman of the Terminal BG, announced that as of April 15, 2025, HarmonyOS Intelligent Drive had cumulatively shipped over 700,000 units.
Furthermore, the Wenjie M8 was officially launched, offering six models priced between 359,800 and 449,800 yuan. Mass deliveries are scheduled to commence on April 20. It is reported that pre-orders for the new Wenjie M8 have surpassed 150,000 units.
In addition, "Shangjie," a new member of the HarmonyOS Intelligent Drive family, was unveiled, joining Wenjie, Zhijie, Xiangjie, and Zunjie as the fifth member. Shangjie is a collaboration between Huawei and SAIC Motor, with an initial investment of 6 billion yuan. It will establish a team of over 5,000 personnel and a dedicated super factory, with the first new product set to be unveiled this autumn.
Autonomous driving company Zongmu Technology files for bankruptcy
On April 15, according to Tianyancha, Zongmu Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zongmu Technology") has recently added a bankruptcy review case, with the applicant being the company itself. The case is being handled by the Shanghai Pudong New Area People's Court.
Founded in 2013, Zongmu Technology is led by Tang Rui as its legal representative and has a registered capital of approximately 96.32 million yuan. Its business scope encompasses the design, production, and sale of automotive electronic software, as well as the research and development, production, and sale of automotive electronic hardware, along with the import and export, wholesale, and commission agency of automotive electronic software and hardware.
Public information reveals that Zongmu Technology quickly gained market prominence by leveraging its surround-view ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and autonomous driving technology, serving clients such as leading automakers Changan, Geely, and Thalys. From 2015 to 2022, the company completed funding rounds from A to E, attracting investors like Lenovo, Xiaomi Group, and Legend Capital, with its valuation once exceeding 9 billion yuan. Notably, on March 28, 2024, Zongmu Technology submitted a prospectus to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with the intention of listing on the Hong Kong Main Board, but failed to pass the review after six months. Xpeng Motors: L3 autonomous driving to be implemented by year-end
On April 15, Xpeng Motors held the 2025 Xpeng Global Passion Night in Hong Kong, unveiling its first global flagship model, the Xpeng X9. The new car is available in four versions, with official guidance prices ranging from 359,800 yuan to 419,800 yuan.
At the event, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of Xpeng Motors, announced that Xpeng's self-developed Turing AI chip will enter mass production for vehicles in mainland China in the second quarter of 2025. He Xiaopeng expressed firm confidence in achieving mass production of L3 autonomous driving capabilities by the end of 2025!
Regarding its flying car initiatives, Xpeng Motors has commenced construction of a flying car manufacturing plant with an anticipated annual production capacity of 10,000 units. He Xiaopeng, CEO of Xpeng Motors, stated that flying cars, as a significant supplement to traditional transportation, are expected to account for 20% of the automotive commercial scale within the next 20 years. Xpeng HT Aero's "land aircraft carrier" has garnered nearly 4,000 orders, with plans for mass production and delivery in 2026.
