On April 27, BYD's "Shenzhen," the world's largest auto carrier, embarked on its maiden voyage from Haitong Taicang Auto Terminal in Taicang Port, Jiangsu, bound for Brazil, carrying over 7,000 BYD new energy vehicles. This follows the January 14, 2025, maiden voyage of the world's largest ro-ro ship, "Lieno Sunlight," also from Taicang Port, setting yet another record for the port and marking the largest single batch of domestic auto exports, as reported by People's Daily.

The "Shenzhen" is BYD's fourth professional auto carrier to enter operation, constructed by Jinling Shipyard under China Merchants Group. With a length of 219.9 meters, a beam of 37.7 meters, 16 decks, and 9,200 standard loading spaces—equivalent to the parking space of 20 standard football fields—it is currently the largest auto carrier in operation globally.

BYD's first three auto carriers include the "Pioneer No.1" (EXPLORER NO.1), officially commissioned in January 2024 with a capacity for 4,000 electric vehicles; the "Changzhou," operational since December 2024, capable of carrying nearly 5,000 BYD new energy vehicles; and the "Hefei," launched in January 2025, offering 7,000 standard parking spaces.

Wang Junbao, General Manager of BYD's Corporate Sales Department, emphasized that the delivery of the "Shenzhen" is pivotal to BYD's globalization strategy. "It serves not merely as a transport vessel but as a 'maritime bridge' connecting China's 'intelligent manufacturing' with the world market, enabling global users to share the benefits of Chinese technology."

BYD's plans for 2025 aim to achieve a total sales target of 5.5 million vehicles, with the overseas market identified as the primary growth driver, targeting annual sales exceeding 800,000 vehicles, marking a year-on-year increase of over 91%.
