"The pinnacle of Huawei technology is embodied in Yijing!" Wang Junjun, Chairman of Yijing Auto, confidently proclaimed this at the Yijing X9 launch event on September 24. Yijing represents a new high-end smart car brand co-created by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei Qiankun, following in the footsteps of Qijing (a collaboration between GAC and Huawei) as the second "Jing"-series brand.
To ensure a successful market debut for its inaugural model, the X9, Yijing has positioned "the pinnacle of Huawei technology" at an incredibly competitive price point. The Yijing X9 is available in four configurations, with limited-time pricing ranging from 279,800 to 359,800 yuan. This marks a 20,000 yuan reduction from the pre-sale prices. Zeng Qinglin, General Manager of Yijing Auto, previously disclosed that the Yijing X9 "doesn't generate substantial profits, with only modest margins."

Within just 24 hours of its launch, the vehicle garnered 9,157 orders. While this figure may not appear extraordinary compared to the often-inflated claims of other brands announcing thousands of orders within a few hours, it represents an unexpectedly strong outcome for Yijing's debut model, particularly considering the Yijing X9's premium positioning in the 300,000 yuan price bracket.
A key factor contributing to the Yijing X9's successful launch is Huawei's technological empowerment. During the event, Zeng Qinglin repeatedly emphasized while introducing the X9 that "Yijing represents the flagship of the Huawei family." It is evident that the Yijing X9 aims to ascend to the throne as the new leader in Huawei's 9-series lineup.
In terms of product positioning, the Yijing X9 is a second-generation family flagship large six-seater SUV, boasting dimensions of 5301mm × 2015mm × 1820mm and a wheelbase of 3120mm. The vehicle seamlessly integrates Huawei Qiankun's six core intelligent solutions: Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 5, HarmonyOS Cockpit, Chitú Platform, Intelligent Vehicle Lighting, Intelligent Vehicle Cloud, and Whale Fin Communication. Furthermore, the HarmonyOS Cockpit 6, Butterfly Wing Dual-Link Screen Soft Light Edition, HAMOMO AI Companion Robot, and AMS In-Cabin Fusion Sensing System are making their debut on the Yijing X9.

Taking Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving as an example, the Yijing X9 comes standard with an 896-line dual-optical-path image-grade LiDAR + Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 5 across all trims. The two Ultra+ versions are equipped with an additional three solid-state blind-spot detection radars, bringing the total sensor count to 32. The Ultra version offers an optional 4-LiDAR package for an additional 10,000 yuan, with a limited-time discounted price of 299,800 yuan, making it the sole four-LiDAR large six-seater SUV available for under 300,000 yuan at present. Additionally, features such as a refrigerator, color TV (21.4-inch rear ceiling screen), and a spacious sofa (zero-pressure cloud seating) come as standard, along with a dual-chamber air suspension + EDC continuously variable damping shock absorber and rear-wheel steering technology.
Zeng Qinglin stated that, in addition to intelligent driving, safety is the Yijing X9's foremost highlight. Through collaborations with Huawei, CATL, and other partners, Yijing has developed the "Celestial Dome Intelligent Shield," which integrates intelligent driving safety, active safety, passive safety, battery safety, rescue safety, and daily cabin health into a comprehensive system, achieving all-encompassing safety protection through pre-judgment, intervention, and post-event support.
Particularly noteworthy in terms of passive safety, the Yijing X9 features a 2400MPa ultra-high-strength steel reinforcement structure in the critical B-pillar area, 20% stronger than the industry norm. The white body's composition of high-strength steel + aluminum alloy reaches 92.4%. The A-pillar incorporates a 2300MPa hot gas expansion tube beam, 2300MPa hot-formed double door rings, and 2300MPa door side impact beams. This makes the Yijing X9 the industry's first mass-produced SUV to pass a 105km/h ultra-high-speed frontal offset collision test and the first mass-produced vehicle to pass a 20-ton container vertical top pressure test.

Regarding range, the Yijing X9 is equipped with CATL batteries across all trims, offering a maximum CLTC pure electric range of up to 465km. According to Zeng Qinglin, the pure electric version of the Yijing X9 will commence pre-sales in November and begin deliveries in December this year. Zeng Qinglin revealed three key figures for this version: kilovolt platform, kilovolt motor, and kilovolt battery. It is clear that the performance and charging capabilities of the Yijing X9's pure electric version will be standout features.
From a pricing perspective, large SUVs with similar configurations on the market currently typically approach the 500,000 yuan mark. In contrast, the Yijing X9 has positioned itself in the 300,000 yuan range. This pricing strategy underscores the Yijing X9's ambition to swiftly disrupt and establish itself in the market. Since the latter half of last year, the market has witnessed the emergence of numerous 9-series large six-seater products, many of which are vying for market share against the classic 9-series models, the AITO M9 and Li Auto L9.
However, from the perspective of aiming to become the new leader in Huawei's 9-series, the Yijing X9 appears to be targeting the AITO M9, but the significant price differential of over 100,000 yuan means they are not direct competitors. For users with a lower budget who still desire a fully-equipped Huawei large six-seater SUV, the Yijing X9 presents a pragmatic choice.
Comparing the AITO M9 2026 Extended Range Max+ 6-Seater (priced at 489,800 yuan) with the Yijing X9 2026 Extended Range Four-Wheel Drive Ultra+ Flagship Long-Range Version (priced at 359,800 yuan), the core Huawei intelligent automotive solutions are relatively comparable. The 130,000 yuan price difference primarily reflects the AITO M9's 6-LiDAR solution, which offers higher hardware redundancy; slightly superior power compared to the Yijing X9; and a greater number of HUAWEI SOUND speakers. On the other hand, the Yijing X9 boasts advantages such as a larger battery and a pure electric range approximately 100km higher.

Although it may not capture a significant portion of the AITO M9's market share, this type of promotional "cross-tier competition" can aid the Yijing X9 in gaining recognition. Its true direct competitors are actually the XPENG GX and Tengshi N8L. These three models each possess their own strengths: the Yijing X9's strength lies in its comprehensive Huawei ecosystem; the XPENG GX excels with VLA2.0 and standard rear-wheel steering; and the Tengshi N8L offers power and handling advantages with its triple motors and Yunchan A system. Compared to competitors like XPENG, the Yijing X9's current biggest drawback is its relatively low brand recognition and insufficient channel touchpoints.
Huawei brings not only its cutting-edge technology but also its complete IPD (Integrated Product Development) and IPMS (Integrated Product Marketing and Sales) management systems, honed in the ICT field, to Yijing. In terms of channels and services, Yijing has adopted Huawei's channel standards, with over 60% of its national top 100 dealers. According to the plan, by October this year, Yijing stores will be established in 90 cities, with service coverage extending to 150 cities, and 400 experience touchpoints will be set up. It is reported that all Yijing stores are constructed to the highest standards of Huawei terminals, incorporating Huawei Huitong service standards. Throughout the ownership experience, the "Huawei Cloud Que Platform Voice" provides online guidance, and dedicated butlers follow up on customer needs with real-time responses.
The nearly 10,000 orders on the first day of launch are a positive indicator. Moving forward, the market feedback following the product delivery of the Yijing X9 and whether the channels and services can keep pace will be critical. This will determine whether Yijing can transform the initial popularity of the X9 into sustained success.
