Seres: 'Xiao Sai' Humanoid Robot Makes Official Debut! Will It Give Stock Prices a Lift?

On June 15th, Beijing time, Kang Bo, a director and vice president of Seres Group, shared a video on Weibo showcasing several Seres robots.

At the outset, the humanoid robot Xiao Sai 01 extended greetings to Huang Bo, the brand ambassador for Hongmeng Zhixing Aito M9, and Kang Bo himself at the entrance. It's evident that Xiao Sai 01 boasts capabilities such as walking, visual recognition, and voice interaction.

Following that, as Huang Bo embarked on a tour in the video, a variety of embodied AI robots were put on display: 1. The humanoid robot, Xiao Sai; 2. A following robot; 3. A logistics robot; 4. A collaborative robot; 5. An embodied AI inspection robot, and more.

From the standpoint of product offerings, Seres' embodied AI robots come in a wide array of forms.

Among them, the humanoid robot adopts a bipedal and dual-handed design; while the following robots, collaborative robots, logistics robots, etc., are wheeled robots with varying wheel setups.

This diversity caters to the practical needs of different scenarios, offering not just bipedal humanoid robots but a range of embodied AI robots capable of performing distinct tasks in various settings.

The embodied AI products featured in the video indicate that Seres deploys them in both B-end production lines and C-end reception areas.

The video also underscored that Seres' humanoid robot has undergone an upgrade, transitioning from the Xiao Sai 01 version to the Xiao Sai 02 version.

It's understood that Seres is also set to introduce a quadruped product, and these embodied AI robot products are slated to make their official public debut this year.

This marks the first instance of Seres showcasing its embodied AI products. In contrast to its collaboration with Aito and Huawei, Seres appears to place a greater emphasis on independent development for its embodied AI products.

Coupled with the AI travel brand AIVA officially launched by Seres on June 9th, it's clear that after generating cash flow through its partnership with Huawei, Seres is actively forging its own development path.

It's worth noting that among the 16 strategic partners signed by Huawei (Shenzhen) Global Embodied AI Industry Innovation Center in November 2024, Seres was not included. It's possible that Seres' robots were still in their nascent stages at the time and not ready for collaboration, or there may be other strategic considerations at play.

However, among the 16 companies that signed the agreement, Leju Robot stands out as Huawei's complete machine partner for humanoid robots. Thus, it may prove challenging for Seres to replicate its successful collaboration model with Huawei in the automotive sector within the realm of humanoid robots.

Moving forward, we'll keep a close eye on the details and progress of Seres' embodied AI development plan.

Automakers such as Tesla, BYD, XPeng, and Li Auto are all vigorously pursuing the mass production of humanoid robots. Seres is keeping abreast of the industry's advancements.

Finally, Seres' A-share stock price closed down 0.68% today, hitting a recent low of 66.46 yuan again on June 11th. Will the debut of the Xiao Sai humanoid robot provide a much-needed boost to Seres' stock price? This is undoubtedly the foremost concern for Seres' investors.
