On December 18th, the "Data Scape Cup" Data Intelligence Innovation Application Competition · Industrial Digital Twin Special Contest (4th Edition) was successfully launched in Wuhu. Hosted by the Wuhu Municipal People's Government and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), and organized by the Wuhu Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the event attracted relevant leaders from the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Wuhu Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and the CAICT, along with renowned experts, scholars, representatives from manufacturing enterprises, and service providers.

Among the attendees were Liu Sanxin, Deputy Director of the Industrial Internet Division of the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Shen Jianfei, Deputy Director of the Wuhu Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and Tian Hongchuan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Industrialization and Informatization of the CAICT. Li Peigen, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, delivered a video speech.

In his welcoming address, Shen Jianfei emphasized that digital twin, as a key area of convergent innovation, boasts high technological content, broad application prospects, and significant industrial investment, making it a focal point for all parties. The National Industrial Digital Twin Competition has fostered a robust ecosystem for digital twin development and become a hallmark of Wuhu's innovative industrial internet development. He expressed hope that this competition would continue to make strides forward.

Liu Sanxin noted that Anhui Province has made commendable progress in industrial internet development, with Wuhu City actively collaborating with the CAICT. By co-hosting the Industrial Digital Twin Competition, Wuhu has integrated technical exploration with application implementation, yielding numerous outstanding digital twin solutions and attracting top digital twin talent. These achievements have laid a solid foundation for digital transformation in Wuhu and the province as a whole.

Tian Hongchuan highlighted that industrial digital twin, as a model integrating the real economy with digital technology, is guiding the manufacturing industry towards intelligence, efficiency, and sustainability. The previous three editions of the competition have yielded fruitful results, and the 4th edition aims to better support advanced industries by continuously refining practical paths for digital twin-driven innovation in manufacturing.

The competition organizing committee representatives unveiled the contest topics, rules, and expert panel. Building on previous editions, this year's competition will be optimized in topic selection, rule arrangement, event promotion, and offline marketing. It will deepen integration with Wuhu's industrial internet and digital twin development foundations, focusing on industries like shipbuilding and die-casting, and incorporating innovative trends such as large models. The goal is to create a platform for technology, talent, and capital integration and innovation, forging a new high ground for domestic digital twin industry development.

In the speech session, Sun Chuang, head of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Equipment Digital Twin Technology Innovation and Testing at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, discussed "Innovative Transformation of Digital Twin and AI Integration," analyzing the integration trend between digital twin technology and artificial intelligence and emphasizing its potential in smart manufacturing, remote monitoring, and predictive maintenance.

Lang Yan, Chief Strategy Officer of PTC China, shared her insights on "How Digital Technology Transforms the Physical World," discussing digital twin technology's application prospects in the industrial internet and its crucial role in boosting production efficiency, cost reduction, and product competitiveness.

Liu Dingxiao, CTO of Beijing Zhipuhuahua Technology Co., Ltd., and Huang Bin, CEO of Hainan Mushanshi Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the GLM Deep-Sea Ship Operation Large Model Application Competition topic.

Li Kaili, Die-Casting Technology Manager of Anhui Wuhu Shunfu Precision Technology Co., Ltd., presented the Die-Casting Manufacturing Process Optimization Digital Twin Challenge topic.

The launch ceremony marked the official start of the "Data Scape Cup" Data Intelligence Innovation Application Competition · Industrial Digital Twin Special Contest (4th Edition). The organizing committee will hold multiple roadshows in universities, parks, and enterprises, inspiring competitors and laying the groundwork for preliminary competitions in February and finals in March of the following year. The committee aims to unite outstanding enterprises, universities, and research institutions to cultivate excellent digital twin solutions and algorithms, promote practical industrial digital twin technology applications, and support the innovative development of the industrial internet.
