139 Institutions Conduct Research as Robotec Promptly Secures a Major Order Worth 129 Million Yuan!

Recently, Robotec revealed that its wholly-owned German subsidiary, ficonTEC Service GmbH, entered into an automation equipment procurement contract on July 23rd with a subsidiary of Company H, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The order, which is tax-exclusive, amounts to 16.74 million euros, roughly equivalent to 129 million yuan. The contract encompasses automated production line equipment and associated services for the mass production of optical components, such as fiber array units (FAUs). This sum accounts for 13.59% of the company's audited operating income for 2025, meeting the threshold for voluntary disclosure of significant business contracts.

Since ficonTEC was formally incorporated into the listed company's consolidated financial statements in May 2025, the cumulative value of similar transactions between the two entities has reached 3.88 million euros, approximately 30 million yuan. The combined total of the two orders stands at 20.62 million euros, translating to 159 million yuan based on the published exchange rate. The fact that the same customer placed back-to-back orders within a short two-month period, with the scale of each order escalating rapidly, underscores the high regard downstream clients have for ficonTEC's equipment delivery capabilities and technical solutions.

Notably, this was not Robotec's sole major order in July. Just a week prior, on July 20th, ficonTEC secured an order valued at approximately 15.88 million euros (inclusive of 19% VAT, with a tax-exclusive amount of roughly 13.34 million euros, equivalent to about 103 million yuan) from a subsidiary of globally renowned automotive electronics client G for equipment and services related to the assembly and testing of automotive cameras. When compared on a tax-exclusive basis, this order is marginally smaller than the FAU equipment order placed on July 23rd.

The flurry of contract announcements has showcased the order-winning prowess of this leading provider of silicon photonics packaging and testing equipment, leaving a strong impression on the market. The concentrated surge in orders is no mere coincidence. On July 20th, Robotec received research calls from 139 institutions, including Zhongtai Securities, China Merchants Securities, and Huatai Securities.

During the research, the company clearly articulated that ficonTEC is not only compatible with traditional pluggable optical module technology paths but also fully encompasses cutting-edge directions such as silicon photonics, NPO, CPO, OCS, and OIO. Furthermore, the company has not received any reports of CPO delays from its clients, indicating robust downstream demand. This statement has, to a certain extent, alleviated market concerns regarding the pace of CPO commercialization and paved the way for subsequent major order disclosures.

From a technological barrier perspective, the scarcity of ficonTEC's offerings constitutes Robotec's most formidable competitive advantage. ficonTEC is a supplier capable of delivering end-to-end solutions that span the entire manufacturing process of silicon photonics devices, from wafer-level testing and assembly of PICs and silicon photonics devices to final inspection. Its modular automation architecture integrates full-process capabilities, including precision assembly, optical coupling alignment, performance testing, and appearance inspection, enabling clients to swiftly transition photonics products from research prototypes to large-scale mass production, precisely meeting the stringent requirements for precision, consistency, and yield in optical interconnect products.

Leveraging this technological edge, the company has successfully infiltrated the supply chains of global top-tier technology enterprises, boasting a client roster that includes Intel, Cisco, Broadcom, NVIDIA, TSMC, and numerous other leading players in the optoelectronics, communications, and semiconductor industries. This customer base, which virtually encompasses all core players in global AI computing power and optical communications, not only validates its technological prowess but also lays a solid foundation for securing future orders.

However, behind the impressive order figures, Robotec is still navigating a profound strategic transformation. In 2025, the company reported operating income of 950 million yuan, a year-on-year decline of 14.14%; its net profit attributable to shareholders was a loss of 66.4404 million yuan. According to the company's performance forecast for the first half of 2026, operating income for the first half of the year was 249 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 65.53%, with a net profit attributable to shareholders loss of 33.3302 million yuan.

Meanwhile, positive signals are also emerging. According to iFinD data from Tonghuashun, as of July 25, 2026, two institutions have issued performance forecasts for Robotec for 2026, predicting a net profit attributable to shareholders of approximately 50 million yuan. To achieve this forecast in the second half of the year, the company needs to realize a net profit attributable to shareholders of roughly 83 million yuan, posing a significant challenge. The company is expediting the restructuring of its global manufacturing base, with the Suzhou base taking over coupling, assembly, and some testing equipment, while the German and Estonian bases pivot towards other testing product lines.

The key risk factor to bear in mind is that equipment orders are project-based, with revenue typically recognized in stages based on performance progress rather than being fully accounted for in current performance upon contract signing. This implies a substantial lag between the "announcement time" and the "revenue recognition time" of major orders, and investors should pay close attention to the actual pace of revenue conversion in subsequent quarters.
