Fast Technology News on August 3: According to Huawei's previously announced timeline, HarmonyOS NEXT will launch its first public beta test in August.
Among them, the Mate 60 series, Mate X5 series, MatePad Pro 13.2-inch, and other models are expected to be among the first to support it.
As the public beta approaches, many apps have already completed the development of HarmonyOS NEXT native applications.
According to Huawei's official introduction, currently, four apps under Midea Group—Midea Smart Home, Meiyunxiao, Mifuditong, and Retail Assistant—have completed the development of core functions for HarmonyOS native applications and are open to targeted invitation testing.
Among them, the "Midea Smart Home" app can connect to all Midea brands and smart home appliances and devices that have joined the ecosystem.
Combining HarmonyOS NEXT's innovative AI capabilities, Midea Smart Home's HarmonyOS native app uses multi-dimensional user environment perception as feature input to achieve precise understanding of user intentions, thereby connecting to specific functions provided by applications or lightweight services. For example, through NFC touch-to-connect networking, users can touch to launch a universal card to control home appliances, significantly simplifying the steps for controlling smart home devices through apps and addressing the fragmentation of smart home experiences.
Meiyunxiao, Mifuditong, and Retail Assistant are three internal operation apps that have also completed native adaptation, enabling cross-terminal and cross-scene device interconnection and seamless information and service sharing across devices through one-time development and multi-terminal deployment.
According to Huawei, HarmonyOS native applications are now in a full sprint phase, with the TOP 5000 apps having all initiated HarmonyOS native application development.
After the open beta of HarmonyOS NEXT, it will cover most user usage scenarios.
