For the entire Android camp, there are currently two urgent tasks: one is to sell off the inventory of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 devices as soon as possible, and the other is to prepare for the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 devices. As the new generation of chips adopts a brand-new architecture with significantly improved clock speeds, the performance ceiling of devices using these chips will also increase. At today's realme Tech Carnival, Xu Qi, the head of realme, revealed some key information about the next-generation flagship device. Some of it is predictable, but there are also surprises.

realme GT 7 Pro is confirmed to be released before the end of the year, officially confirming that the GT 6 Pro has been skipped. The reason for skipping a generation in product naming is unclear, and it's unlikely that the official will explain this. In addition to the GT 7 Pro, the GT7 and GT Neo7 will also appear, but they are expected to use less powerful chips.

As for the other functional configurations of the GT7 Pro besides the CPU chip, there have also been leaks online. For example, it will feature a 1.5K LTPO high-refresh-rate screen with no change in form factor, retaining the same four-curved screen design. The screen quality is likely to be upgraded, and it is estimated that it will still use a BOE display. The camera capabilities will be upgraded, but the upgrade should not be too significant since the GT5 Pro is already strong in this area. It is estimated that there will be sensor updates and AI algorithm upgrades.

There were rumors online that the GT7 Pro would be equipped with a battery capacity of around 6000mAh, which would be a significant upgrade considering that the previous generation had a capacity of only 5400mAh. One easily overlooked but significant aspect that demonstrates the official's upgraded design capabilities is the thickness. While the GT5 Pro has a thickness of 9.23mm, which is relatively thick, the GT7 Pro, with an increased battery capacity of 600mAh, is rumored to have a significantly reduced thickness of around 8.5mm, likely due to the adoption of new technologies.

Another surprise may be the charging power. realme officially announced 320W charging today. In the official demonstration, a phone with a 4420mAh battery was fully charged in 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Applying this to the GT7 Pro, it is estimated that it can be fully charged in about 10 minutes, which is incredibly fast.

It's unclear whether Xu Qi's remarks imply that 320W charging will actually be commercialized. For example, he said, "From the first launch of 150W to 240W, let's witness a new charging record and milestone together." Since both 150W and 240W have already been used in phones, it would not be surprising if 320W is also commercialized. Based on the initial launch models, it is likely that the 320W charging will debut on the GT Neo7 rather than the GT7 Pro, as the 240W charging technology was first introduced on the GT Neo5. Without any special reasons, it would be reasonable for the same series to introduce the next upgrade.

As for the price, if it remains the same as the initial launch price of the GT5 Pro, the GT7 Pro will be a significant upgrade.
