According to Quick Technology on August 30, at CES 2024 earlier this year, MSI released the Claw handheld device powered by Intel's Meteor Lake processor. Following the release of the new-generation Lunar Lake processor, MSI plans to introduce a new handheld device, the Claw 8 AI+.
It is reported that the new handheld device has undergone several upgrades, with the processor upgraded from Ultra 100H to Ultra 200V and equipped with LPDDR5X-8533 memory.
In terms of visual experience, the Claw 8 AI+ spares no effort. The screen size has gracefully expanded from 7 inches to 8 inches, paired with a fine resolution of 1920 x 1200. This not only offers a broader field of vision but also renders colors and details more vividly and realistically.
This screen also supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz, ensuring smooth and blur-free visuals in both fast-paced competitive games and immersive adventure explorations, offering players a silky-smooth visual experience.
In terms of connectivity and expandability, the Claw 8 AI+ also demonstrates forward-thinking design considerations. The number of Thunderbolt 4 interfaces has doubled to two, providing users with more flexible options for data transfer and external device connections.
Furthermore, the SSD slot specification has been upgraded from M.2 2230 to the more prevalent and powerful M.2 2280, allowing users to easily upgrade their storage capacity to meet the growing demand for data storage.
Additionally, MSI has meticulously improved the RB and LB buttons for precise game control, ensuring that every operation responds accurately and enhancing the overall gaming experience.
During COMPUTEX 2024, Cliff Chun, Director of MSI System Product Management, personally revealed to the media the design philosophy and development journey behind the Claw 8 AI+.
He disclosed that to find the optimal balance for screen size, the MSI team not only experimented with an 8-inch solution but also explored the possibilities of 5-inch and 10-inch options. Ultimately, they found that 8 inches offered a sufficient visual immersion while maintaining portability and control comfort, perfectly aligning with players' actual needs.
