Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 flagship mobile platform in October, and Xiaomi 15 series will be the first to launch on this platform.
Firstly, it is reported that the Xiaomi 15 series will offer multiple models including Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, Xiaomi 15 Pro Titanium Alloy Satellite Communication Edition, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Among them, Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be released separately and is expected to be available in 2025, while the other three models are expected to be officially launched at the end of October this year, with a high probability of being the first globally to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 flagship mobile platform.
Recently, a Xiaomi new phone with model number 24129PN74C was approved for network access, and it is rumored to be the Xiaomi 15, supporting up to 90W fast charging.
As per previous reports by Mingmei Infinite, Xiaomi 15 (24129PN74C) and Xiaomi 15 Pro Titanium Metal Edition (2410DPN6CC) have already been approved for radio certification. In addition, there is another version of Xiaomi 15 Pro with model number 24101PNB7C.
It is also reported that the Xiaomi 15 has a screen size of around 6.3-6.4 inches, making it a small screen flagship with a rear 50MP Leica triple camera system.
Moreover, Xiaomi 15 Pro is equipped with a roughly 6.7-inch 2K OLED domestic screen, a built-in large-capacity battery of around 6000mAh, supports fast charging, features a rear 50MP main camera + 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and is equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint recognition module.
Furthermore, Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be equipped with a rear quad-camera setup, including a 4.X times zoom 200MP telephoto lens and a small telephoto lens.
In terms of battery life, Xiaomi has recently been researching various fast charging solutions, including: 5000mAh + 120W fast charging, fully charged in 18 minutes; 5500mAh + 100W fast charging, fully charged in 34 minutes; 6000mAh + 120W fast charging, fully charged in 30 minutes; 6500mAh + 100W fast charging, fully charged in 49 minutes; 7000mAh + 120W fast charging, fully charged in 40 minutes; and 7500mAh + 100W fast charging, fully charged in 63 minutes.
These solutions offer charging powers of 100W and 120W, with capacities ranging from a minimum of 5000mAh to a maximum of 7500mAh.
It is speculated that the 5500mAh battery solution may be for the Xiaomi 15 standard edition, while the 6000mAh battery solution is expected to be adopted by Xiaomi 15 Pro, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to carry an even larger battery capacity.
In addition, Xiaomi's upcoming Xiaomi 15 series boasts significant innovations in screen and design. The Xiaomi 15 standard edition will feature a 1.5K resolution straight screen, while the Xiaomi 15 Pro goes a step further with a 1.5K equal-depth quad-curved screen and a metal right-angle frame design, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. In terms of back design, both new phones adopt a square Deco camera module and incorporate a crater-like transition design, abandoning the previous Parisian nail element, a classic design language widely used in high-end models such as early iPhones and Xiaomi 11 Ultra, exuding sophistication.
As a landmark innovation in the mobile phone industry, the crater design not only achieves a natural transition between the camera module and the rear shell but also enhances the visual depth and continuity through an integrated molding process, resulting in a streamlined yet exquisite overall design. The Xiaomi 15 series inherits this design philosophy, striving to bring users a more harmonious and aesthetically pleasing visual experience.
Notably, as an annual flagship, one of the highlights of Xiaomi 15 is its debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen4, which adopts a 2+6 architecture with two ultra-high-performance cores clocked at up to 4.09GHz and six other cores clocked at 2.78GHz.
According to previous leaks, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 bids farewell to Arm's public version and adopts a self-developed Oryon CPU architecture designed by the NUVIA team, which will be the first to use TSMC's second-generation 3nm process technology.
In terms of pricing, innovation and upgrades have led to increased costs, and the starting price of Xiaomi 15 will exceed 3999 yuan.
At the Xiaomi 14 launch event, Lei Jun stated that this would be the last Xiaomi digital flagship smartphone starting at 3999 yuan, and Xiaomi hopes to make better phones and will no longer be constrained by this price point.
It is worth noting that Lei Jun mentioned that there would only be a slight increase in price and that the entry-level 8GB version is expected to be discontinued.
By the way, it is well-known that the previous generation Xiaomi 14 series sold strongly, with sales reaching six times that of Xiaomi 13 series within the first five minutes of its initial launch. Within less than a month, cumulative sales of Xiaomi 14 series exceeded one million units, and demand exceeded supply. At that time, Lei Jun described the popularity of Xiaomi 14 series as "severely out of stock."
As an iterative model, the Xiaomi 15 series is poised to become the next generation of flagship hits.
Finally, current leaks indicate that new models such as vivo X200 series, OPPO Find X8 series, Xiaomi 15 series, OnePlus 13, iQOO 13, realme GT7 Pro, and Redmi K80 series are "basically confirmed to launch in October-November." The Honor Magic7 series and Huawei's new models are tentatively scheduled for November as well.
In summary, the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to bring upgrades in performance, imaging, battery life, and possibly pricing changes, with the earliest launch set for October.
