As everyone knows, many new domestic phones will be released in the next month, but it's still unclear which company will be the first to launch them. Currently, it appears that Honor will take the lead. Honor has officially announced that it will release the X60 series models at 17:30 on October 16. In fact, the preheating for this device has already begun. Based on the price positioning of previous generations, the Honor X series belongs to mid-range cost-effective models, and this series has always had a good reputation among users, otherwise the X50 series would not have sold 15 million units. Currently, it appears that the X60 series has the potential to surpass this sales achievement, as more detailed functional configurations have been exposed.
The biggest surprise is naturally Honor's official announcement that the X60 series will support satellite communication, bringing a feature previously reserved for top-tier flagship devices to mid-range cost-effective models. This news immediately attracted a lot of attention, but the official statement was still relatively vague. Yesterday, I proposed three possibilities, but based on the official confirmation, yesterday's guesses were a bit naive. The possibility of standard configuration across the entire series no longer exists.
In the preheating poster for satellite communication, Honor officially stated that only the X60 Pro 12GB+512GB storage version of the upcoming new device will support China Mobile's Beidou satellite messaging function. This clarifies three points: First, only satellite messaging is supported, not satellite calls; second, only the Pro version is available, and the standard version definitely does not support it. As for whether the subsequent GT version will support it, there is no clear information yet; third, only China Mobile users can use this feature, while China Unicom and China Telecom users cannot, which is indeed a bit disappointing for some people.
But when you think about it, it's understandable. It has been reported online that the Honor X60 standard version will have some reductions in configuration. According to the official renderings, the rear camera of the standard version has been changed from a dual-camera setup in the previous generation to a single-camera setup. Don't be tempted to criticize just yet; personally, I don't think it's a big deal because the removed camera was just a 2-megapixel filler. Given this, the price may also be appropriately reduced, and I personally estimate that the starting price of the Honor X60 standard version will be set at 1499 yuan.
As for the Pro version, I estimate that it will start at 1799 yuan, and the 12GB+512GB version with satellite communication support may be priced at 1999 yuan (this is a common guess among netizens). In addition, I personally believe that the biggest surprise of the Honor X60 series is its battery life. The Pro version comes equipped with a 6600mAh battery, which has surprised many. The official claim is that it can last for two days on a single charge. Even if the charging power remains unchanged, such battery life is more than satisfactory. What's even more impressive is that the thickness remains unchanged, which is quite remarkable.
From this, it appears that Honor's focus this time is on the X60 Pro, but it doesn't mean that the standard version isn't worth buying. When choosing a smartphone, it mainly depends on your usage needs. If you only need to make phone calls, send messages, browse the web, and occasionally shop online, the X60 standard version can meet your daily needs. If you have higher requirements, choosing the Pro version would be more suitable. The X60 series still looks great, and as long as the price is set at an appropriate level, it can basically be considered a must-buy for the year.
