As the launch of the Galaxy S25 series approaches, more details about this Samsung flagship phone are gradually emerging.
According to the leakers, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in four color options: black, blue, green, and titanium. However, these are just the basic color options, and Samsung may offer more colors on its official website for consumers to choose from.
While black, blue, and titanium are similar to the colors of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, green is a new addition. It's unclear whether this will be a light or dark shade of green, but if it's dark green, it should be quite distinctive.
Furthermore, leaked renders suggest that the Galaxy S25 Ultra features curved corners for a more comfortable grip. The phone retains IP68 dust and water resistance, and its titanium alloy frame provides better resistance to drops.
Additionally, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution, supporting a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and HDR10+. The screen is likely to be covered with Corning Gorilla Glass to reduce glare and reflections. It will also include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
Notably, on September 19th, two new Samsung devices with model numbers SM-S9310 and SM-S9360 passed domestic 3C certification, supporting 25W and 45W fast charging, respectively. These are expected to be the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+.
Another Samsung satellite mobile terminal with model number 'SM-S9380' passed domestic 3C certification on September 10th, supporting 45W fast charging and sold without an adapter. Reports indicate that this certified device is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung's first satellite-enabled phone in China.
Satellite communication technology utilizes artificial earth satellites as relay stations to transmit radio waves, enabling communication between earth stations. This technology allows mobile phones to directly transmit and receive wireless signals with satellites, supporting voice, SMS, and broadband/narrowband data services. In emergency situations like natural disasters, satellite communication offers better signal stability and transmission quality than terrestrial networks.
Currently, mainstream phone brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, and Honor all support satellite communication. With the addition of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the application of satellite communication in high-end flagship phones will further expand. However, it's worth noting that Apple's Chinese models have yet to follow suit in this regard.
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to sport a 6.86-inch AMOLED display, potentially powered by a custom Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset. It is expected to offer a 4885mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging support. For photography, it may feature a quad-camera setup consisting of a 200MP HP2 primary sensor, a 50MP JN3 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50MP IMX854 5x periscope telephoto lens, and a 10MP IMX754 3x telephoto lens.
By the way, according to the latest information from China's Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) database, the Galaxy S25 Ultra's battery capacity is 4885mAh. This is comparable to the Galaxy S24 Ultra's battery capacity, meaning the Galaxy S25 Ultra's battery capacity will likely still be advertised as 5000mAh. Earlier reports also indicated that Samsung will not increase the charging speed of its next-generation flagship phones.
Currently, Honor, OnePlus, OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi have begun equipping their flagship phones with batteries exceeding 5000mAh. Reports suggest that some Chinese brands are even testing batteries with capacities up to 6000mAh or even 7500mAh.
While the Galaxy S24 Ultra can last a full day with heavy usage and a day and a half with moderate usage, a larger battery would undoubtedly extend its endurance to a day and a half even with heavy usage. As smartphones become increasingly integral to daily life, battery life becomes increasingly crucial. It is hoped that Samsung will adopt silicon carbide battery technology similar to what Chinese brands use in their high-end phones.
Furthermore, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S25 series in the first quarter of next year, alongside the final version of One UI 7. This represents another significant move by Samsung in the smartphone market.
Lastly, if the current leaks about the Galaxy S25 Ultra prove true, it implies that in addition to routine hardware upgrades, the phone is likely to see further improvements in design, performance, and photography. However, specific product details will require confirmation from Samsung through additional information. Interested parties are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.
