As one of the pioneering domestic brands in the gaming phone market, Red Magic continues to captivate gamers with its exceptional design and robust performance. Recently, we had the pleasure of reviewing the Red Magic 10 Pro Daybreak Warrior Edition. Let's delve into how this flagship device, still centered on delivering the ultimate gaming experience, performs.
Daybreak Warrior: Martial Arts Unites Gamers
Upon first glance at the Red Magic 10 Pro Daybreak Warrior Edition, the term "battle angel" immediately came to mind. Its pristine white body is both aesthetically pleasing and brimming with power.
The phone's design is sleek and uninterrupted, with no protrusions, including the rear camera module.
The back cover boasts a subtly matte, frosted texture. In its resting state, the X and Red Magic logos are subtly embedded, but when RGB lighting is activated, they glow vividly, accompanied by the camera module fan's light, instantly immersing you in a gaming atmosphere.
On the right side frame, a circular power button is centrally located, accompanied by a crimson game competition button. Both sides of the frame also feature game shoulder buttons, all of which can be customized within the system to perform various functions like flashlight, recorder, and more.
Notably, the top frame retains a rare 3.5mm headphone jack, enabling gamers to experience the lowest latency audio through a wired connection.
The front of the phone sports a 1.5K resolution 144Hz refresh rate screen, featuring a true full-screen design without any cutouts, offering an outstanding visual experience. This screen supports 2592Hz PWM dimming and, for an enhanced gaming experience, boasts a global touch sampling rate of 960Hz, with an instantaneous touch sampling rate reaching up to 2500Hz.
From a design perspective, the punch-hole-free straight-screen of the Red Magic 10 Pro is sleek and directly appeals to gamers' aesthetic sensibilities.
Gaming Prowess: A Pro's Domain
Several phones on the market focus on performance. So, what advantages does the Red Magic 10 Pro, as a professional gaming phone, offer in terms of gaming experience?
Firstly, in terms of core configuration, the Red Magic 10 Pro spares no expense. While most devices come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the Red Magic 10 Pro stands out with its standard 9600Mbps LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 Pro storage, configurations uncommon in most performance-focused phones.
In benchmarking tests, the Red Magic 10 Pro scored 2.94 million on AnTuTu, 5891 on 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, and 3153 (single-core) and 9666 (multi-core) on Geekbench 6.
To ensure sustained performance, efficient heat dissipation is crucial. The Red Magic 10 Pro is equipped with a 3D ice-step dual-pump VC covering up to 12,000 square millimeters within the body, complemented by a centrifugal fan spinning at up to 23,000 RPM. This combination of passive and active cooling unleashes the Red Magic 10 Pro's full potential.
Starting with a simple "Honor of Kings" test, the Red Magic 10 Pro ran the game at maximum graphics settings, achieving an average frame rate of 120.3fps with stable performance and an average power consumption of 3.57W.
Next, we tested "Genshin Impact." Notably, the Red Magic 10 Pro is equipped with the self-developed Redmagic Gaming Chip R3, supporting over 200 popular games with concurrent 2K 120Hz super resolution and overclocking, including "Genshin Impact".
With the graphics enhancement feature enabled, "Genshin Impact" supports two levels of graphics upgrades: high graphics at 1.5K resolution and ultra-high graphics at 2K resolution.
We first tested the Red Magic 10 Pro with 2K graphics and a 120Hz refresh rate. It provided the smoothest and most detailed "Genshin Impact" experience I've ever had on a mobile device. However, due to the high demands of 2K graphics and 120Hz, the phone heated up significantly after a few minutes.
Using an infrared thermometer, we measured the temperature of the phone's touchable areas at around 39°C. Impressively, despite the high graphics settings causing significant heat, the Red Magic 10 Pro maintained a stable frame rate with no frequent stutters or drops.
Subsequently, we set the resolution to 1.5K with a 120Hz refresh rate and tested continuously for half an hour. "Genshin Impact" achieved an average frame rate of 117.9fps, with only 6 minor stutters within 30 minutes. The average power consumption was 6.75W.
After reducing the resolution from 2K to 1.5K, the heating sensation was less pronounced, with the phone's touchable areas measuring around 37°C.
Through testing "Genshin Impact," it's evident that the Red Magic 10 Pro's performance scheduling is aggressive. Its gaming experience is top-notch, providing a smooth gameplay even in high-resolution and high-frame-rate modes like 2K+120Hz. However, using a cooling fan is recommended for such intensive gaming sessions.
We also tested "Honkai: Star Rail," which the Red Magic 10 Pro supports with 1.5K and 2K high resolutions paired with a 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of gaming auxiliary functions, the Red Magic 10 Pro offers an exhaustive suite tailored to gamers' needs. Whether you're an ordinary gamer or a professional streamer, you'll find features you love and need.
Features like win rate prediction, graphics enhancement, and screen recording are standard, but one feature stands out – Mini-map Extraction.
Players of "Honor of Kings" know the importance of the mini-map for tracking teammates and enemies. However, during battles, it's easy to overlook changes on the mini-map, leading to ambushes or lost towers.
The Mini-map Extraction feature allows you to map an additional mini-map onto the screen. I set it to a transparent state closer to the center of my vision, ensuring I never miss crucial mini-map updates during team fights.
As mobile phones' performance continues to escalate, games are pushing graphical and performance limits. The Red Magic 10 Pro significantly outperforms other performance-oriented phones in both hardware configuration and heat dissipation. It not only provides top-notch graphics and a smooth experience now but also ensures the gaming experience remains robust for years to come, demonstrating future-proof gaming potential.
Other Configurations and Highlights
Battery capacity is crucial for gaming phones. The Red Magic 10 Pro+ boasts the largest battery among this year's new releases, at 7050mAh. The Red Magic 10 Pro, meanwhile, utilizes a new generation of silicon-carbon anode technology, offering a 6500mAh battery. Additionally, the battery employs ETT tunnel technology, extending its cycle life by 20%.

The Red Magic 10 Pro supports charge separation, and to reduce heat during charging, the cooling fan can be activated, maximizing its capabilities.
While many expect gaming phones to scan QR codes, the Red Magic 10 Pro's dual 50MP rear cameras demonstrate sincere effort. The cameras comprise a 14mm ultra-wide-angle and a 24mm wide-angle lens, with decent 2x zoom image quality.
Furthermore, the Red Magic 10 Pro is equipped with an X-axis linear motor, providing excellent vibration feedback during gaming or typing. It also includes Red Magic Cube AI 2.0, offering numerous useful AI features at the system level.
