Kuaikeji, June 12 News: This May, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology gave the official green light for the utilization of test frequencies for 6G. This milestone positions China as the first nation worldwide to secure the necessary qualifications for conducting 6G test frequencies.
This development signifies that China's research and development efforts in 6G technology will transition progressively from stages like laboratory simulations and indoor prototype testing to real-world applications in urban and industrial settings. This shift will enable more accurate performance validations in environments that closely resemble commercial conditions.
According to a report from CCTV Business, referencing predictive research by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) on spectrum planning for 2040, China is poised to maintain its leading position in the 6G era.
Si Han, President of GSMA Greater China, remarked that China is anticipated to emerge as one of the front-runners in the global deployment of 6G, with an estimated 6G penetration rate of 60% projected by 2035.
Si Han further elaborated that, apart from being the pioneer in approving test frequencies for 6G, China is also slated to host the World Radiocommunication Conference in Shanghai next year.
During this conference, the global spectrum allocation for 6G will be finalized, marking yet another significant milestone in the evolution of 6G technology.
The industry consensus is that 6G communication capabilities will surpass those of 5G by more than tenfold, with commercialization expected to commence around 2030.
From the approval of test frequencies to real-world scenario testing, and onward to the progression of global spectrum planning, China's industrialization journey for 6G is gaining momentum at an accelerated pace.
