Fast Tech News on October 9th, blogger Tech Idle Talk revealed that the first batch of Snapdragon 8 Ultimate devices will be released in the last week of October, with sales starting immediately after the announcement.
Tech Idle Talk also marked three dates: October 28th, October 29th, and October 30th, suggesting that the Xiaomi 15 series will be unveiled on October 28th.
It is reported that the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Ultimate platform, making it Xiaomi's most powerful digital flagship to date and the strongest small-screen flagship in history.
This time, the Snapdragon 8 Ultimate features Qualcomm's self-developed Oryon core for the first time, marking Qualcomm's greater autonomy in CPU design.
This chip adopts a 2+6 architecture, including two super cores with a frequency exceeding 4GHz. On GeekBench 6, it scores around 3000 points in single-core and over 10,000 points in multi-core, significantly outperforming Apple's A18 Pro in multi-core performance.
Lu Weibing noted that the Snapdragon 8 Ultimate represents a turning point in the chip industry, introducing Qualcomm's new desktop-class microarchitecture with three key features: ultra-high clock speed, ultra-powerful performance, and ultra-low power consumption. Each of these aspects represents a revolutionary upgrade.
After three years of in-depth joint research and development, combined with comprehensive optimization of our system kernel, this will be the most significant leap in performance experience ever.
In addition, Xiaomi 15 will continue the small-screen approach of its predecessor, adopting a Huaxing C9 screen with a resolution of 1.5K and a centered punch-hole design.
Regarding pricing, the starting price of the Xiaomi 15 series will exceed 4,000 yuan. At the Xiaomi 14 launch event, Lei Jun stated that this would be the last Xiaomi digital flagship priced starting at 3,999 yuan. Xiaomi hopes to create better phones and will no longer target this price range in the future.
