Last time, we interpreted the May sales performance of new car-making forces.
This time, let's look at the performance of emerging auto brands (i.e., new brands from traditional automakers).
The content is long, so like and then read, make it a habit.
Now, enjoy.
01 Zeekr
Zeekr remains the top performer among the emerging auto brands.
With 34,377 deliveries in May (31,787 in April), it has achieved stable sales of over 30,000 units for two consecutive months this year. More importantly, Zeekr's deliveries are of high value, with both volume and price increasing.
Out of these 34,000 deliveries, Zeekr's Series 9 and Series 8 accounted for nearly 50%, with the brand's average transaction price per vehicle increasing by 52.4% year-on-year.
Series 9: The May delivery volume of Series 9 models was around 10,000-12,000 units.
Among them, cumulative deliveries of the Zeekr 9X have exceeded 60,000 units, with an average transaction price exceeding 530,000 yuan. For vehicles priced over 500,000 yuan, one out of every three sold is a Zeekr 9X.
The refreshed Zeekr 009 (launched on May 19) saw orders for the seven-seater UItra+ Family Edition account for over 60%, with the 009 maintaining its position as the sales champion in its segment across four major global markets.
Series 8: The Zeekr 8X (launched on April 17) delivered 5,757 units in May, with production ramping up.
The Zeekr 8X Shadow Edition and the vast expanse of a thousand miles H7 variant have commenced initial deliveries, while the vast expanse of a thousand miles H9 variant of the Zeekr 8X and 8X Shadow Edition will begin deliveries in July.
Zeekr Shooting Brake: Large orders continued to exceed 10,000 in May (also exceeding 10,000 in April), with the Zeekr 001 Fifth Anniversary Edition also being offered in limited quantities.
Currently, Zeekr is performing well in terms of sales, average transaction price per vehicle, gross margin, and revenue generation, having entered a stage of high-quality development.
Zeekr's annual target for this year is 300,000 units, and with cumulative sales of 143,000 units in the first five months, 47.7% of the annual target has been achieved.
Based on Zeekr's current momentum, June sales are expected to exceed 30,000 units again,
and Zeekr should exceed its KPI for the first half of the year.
02 IM Motors
IM Motors delivered 10,023 units in May, compared to 10,016 units in April, with cumulative sales of 33,890 units from January to May, a significant year-on-year increase of 115%.
It's worth mentioning that on May 28, SAIC officially completed the delivery of its 100 millionth user globally, becoming the first automotive group in China's automotive industry to surpass 100 million cumulative production and sales.
The milestone model for this 100 millionth delivery was the IM Motors flagship six-seater, the IM LS9 Hyper.
As a high-end new energy brand and "Project No.1" go all out to build by SAIC Motor, IM Motors has been entrusted with the mission of brand upward mobility since its inception.
This is essentially SAIC's overt preference for IM Motors.
IM Motors is about to embark on a new journey. As for IM Motors' June sales performance, it is quite promising. Firstly, the IM LS8 was launched in April and is still in its new product window period, so there will be new increments.
On May 20, coinciding with SAIC's 100 millionth milestone, IM Motors offered 100 million yuan in exclusive subsidies to users, introducing the IM LS6 SAIC 100 Millionth Limited Edition, which comes standard with "520-line ultra-vision lidar + NVIDIA Thor™ chip," limited to 5,000 units, with deliveries commencing in early June.
In addition, the all-new IM LS6 and all-new L6 have officially been announced for a refreshed launch in the third quarter.
In last month's interpretation of IM Motors' sales, "Tech Jungle" stated, "It's important to value two-way communication and information synchronization with users, such as providing advance notice before new car launches and facelifts."
It seems IM Motors has taken this advice to heart.
Now that the refreshed models have been officially announced, the current models are entering the clearance stage.
The exclusive purchase window for the current IM LS6 and IM L6 has officially opened, with limited models starting at 189,900 yuan, offering very high cost-effectiveness.
With these two strategies, there will be increments. IM Motors' June sales should remain above 10,000 units.
03 Avatar
Avatar sold 7,336 units in May. April sales were 5,279 units, March 5,143 units, February 4,033 units, and January 2,216 units.
Overall, sales are on an upward trend.
However, there is a clear lack of momentum.
During media interviews at the Beijing Auto Show in April, Chen Zhuo, President of Avatar Technology, stated, "We aim to return to a basic threshold of 10,000 monthly sales in May."
But now it seems this goal has not been achieved, and the shortfall is significant.
In April, Avatar launched the new Avatar 12 (launched on April 8) and the all-new sports sedan Avatar 06T (launched on April 22).
This means May was the first full delivery month for these two new models.
With fresh blood added, May sales only increased by 2,000 units compared to April.
This indicates that the market order performance for the new models is average, with insufficient growth momentum.

The Avatar 07L has been listed on the MIIT's roster and will be launched in the third quarter, with increased dimensions and space performance as highlights.
However, distant water cannot quench immediate thirst. The most critical issue for Avatar now is not sales but consistently failing to find its own path and direction. This is the most fatal.
04 VOYAH
VOYAH delivered 13,003 vehicles in May 2026.
In April, 15,146 units were delivered, in March 15,019 units, in February 8,358 units, and in January 10,515 units.
The momentum this year has been strong.
On May 22, the VOYAH Taishan X8 was launched, with orders exceeding 15,000 units within 18 hours of launch, with the Ultral+ version configuration accounting for over 60%, becoming a hit.
This means there will be new increments in VOYAH's June sales, with the specific boost depending on production ramp-up.
The Zhui Guang S was also listed on the MIIT's roster in May and will be officially launched mid-year, targeting young users and equipped with four lidars and Huawei ADS 5.0, as well as an AI-interactive smart cockpit.
From the exposed exterior, it can be said to be the best-looking VOYAH model to date.

The competitive models for this car are also clear: Tesla Model Y and Xiaomi YU7.
The core factors determining whether this car will be a hit are the unique technologies it offers, as well as the pricing and SKU options.
In the second half of the year, VOYAH will also launch a 500,000 yuan-level new product (code-named Everest), forming a price coverage of 300,000, 400,000, and 500,000 yuan with the current Dreamer.
VOYAH is transitioning from a single hit-driven model to a new stage of multi-model collaborative development, building a sustainably growing product system.
Currently, the overall trend is generally following the established route.
In addition, another thing VOYAH is doing is accelerating its global expansion.
VOYAH has entered 40 countries and regions overseas and established over 240 overseas sales outlets.
During the Beijing Auto Show, VOYAH announced "Three Major Initiatives: Deepening in Europe, Layout in the Middle East, and Entering the Right-Hand Drive Market."

In May, Dongfeng Motor Group and Stellantis Group signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to comprehensively deepen strategic cooperation and accelerate global expansion.
Both parties intend to establish a joint venture in Europe, which will be responsible for the sales and distribution of VOYAH vehicles in agreed European markets.
This cooperation is an important move in VOYAH's globalization strategy. Leveraging Stellantis Group's mature channel system, local operational capabilities, and global industrial resources in the European market, VOYAH will further enhance its efficiency in overseas market expansion and accelerate its global expansion process.
In the first five months of this year, VOYAH has delivered a cumulative total of 62,041 vehicles, with an annual sales target of 200,000 units.
Based on the current situation, the first-half target will not be achieved.
It remains to be seen whether the introduction of new models in the second half of the year will bring more increments.
05 DENZA
DENZA sold 16,303 units in May, compared to 11,250 units in April, showing a significant improvement in sales.
The main reason is the dual-car drive of Z9GT + D9.
The Z9GT (launched on March 5) is still in its sales window period, with many orders remaining, and production capacity continuously ramping up, delivering 5,952 units in May, compared to 3,986 units last month.
As for the 2026 D9, it was launched on April 27, meaning May was the first full delivery month, with 6,721 units delivered, showing decent sales performance.
However, at this volume, the DENZA D9 is likely no longer the May MPV sales champion.
The DENZA D9, which once consistently sold over 10,000 units per month, is no longer the absolute king of the new energy MPV market.
It's a pity to see such a good hand played out like this.
In addition, the N9 Flash Charge Edition was also launched on May 18, contributing to sales of 1,565 units, but currently (last month it was 278), it remains to be seen how much momentum it will have.
Furthermore, the N8L Flash Charge Edition will also be launched in June, but the prospects for these two models are not much different.
In the current market competition, they are unlikely to maintain long-term popularity.
Based on the current situation, DENZA's June sales should reach a new high.
If the Z9GT and D9 can put in more effort, reaching 20,000 monthly sales is not impossible.
The end.
