Recent online buzz suggests that JD will soon launch an AI-powered trendy toy product.
JD has confirmed the rumors, affirming that this is indeed the case.
While the surface narrative revolves around crafting a few AI toys, a deeper motive underpins this venture: Dongge's aspiration to harness embodied intelligence.
Since the inception of its embodied intelligence brand, JoyInside, in March this year, JD has been highly active in the sector.
In May, the company participated in the B+ round of financing for Zhiyuan, the robot project led by Huawei's "genius boy," Peng Zhihui.
Currently, JoyInside is collaborating closely with over a dozen robot and smart hardware manufacturers to integrate JD's large AI model brain into robots and smart toys.
Their vision is refreshingly pragmatic: one person, one dog, one toy—a blueprint for a comprehensive "intelligent interactive ecosystem".
Does the path of AI trendy toys hold promise? The data speaks volumes.
During this year's 618 shopping festival, sales of JoyInside-equipped embodied intelligence robots surged 17 times year-on-year. Notably, the Yuanluobo AI chess-playing robot stood out, with sales jumping 171%, solidifying its status as a "star product" among JD's smart hardware offerings.
Moreover, self-operated sales of smart robots across the JD platform witnessed a remarkable 300% increase.
These figures underscore two key points:
First, consumers are genuinely embracing this technology;
Second, AI trendy toys have transcended the realm of mere concept and are evolving into a tangible new consumption trend.
JoyInside's strategy extends beyond household applications.
In the realm of family companionship, for instance, the four-legged robot dog MagicDog Pro boasts basic emotional expression and interaction capabilities, making it ideal for children, the elderly, and pet lovers alike.
Within children's education, the Yuanluobo AI chess-playing robot offers a multifaceted solution, enabling chess play, knowledge imparting, and English learning companionship—all in one device.
Corporate applications are also on the rise, exemplified by the Zhongqing PM01 robot, which has been deployed in scenarios such as cultural tourism guidance and interactive reception. It excels at rapid need identification, task completion, and swift response, all at a relatively low cost.
Through these diverse products, JD is steadily constructing a comprehensive "embodied intelligence ecosystem," bringing AI into the fabric of daily life.
