Amidst the vibrant spring scenery of Beijing, with peach blossoms in full bloom and magnolias and early cherries adding to the city's charm, the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference successfully took place in Haidian, Beijing, from March 27th to March 31st. Themed “New-type Productivity and Global Scientific and Technological Cooperation,” the event gathered top scientists, industry leaders, and innovation pioneers from around the globe.
As a national platform for global scientific and technological innovation exchanges and cooperation, the Zhongguancun Forum serves as a pivotal hub for dialogue on cutting-edge technology and provides a grand stage for showcasing frontier advancements. Embracing the concept of “technology-driven conferences,” this year's forum deeply integrated advanced technologies such as humanoid robots, artificial intelligence, and green and low-carbon solutions. Among these, embodied intelligent robots shone as greeters, communicators, hosts, performers, and service providers, becoming the forum's most eye-catching attraction and further indicating the deepening industrialization of the human-machine symbiosis era.
As a star enterprise in Haidian, Beijing, and a high-tech company in Zhongguancun, Lingbao CASBOT actively participated in the entire conference with its two humanoid robots, CASBOT 01 and CASBOT SE. Taking on multiple roles, from hosting to greeting to performing, these robots interacted with global guests, media, and audiences at zero distance, comprehensively demonstrating their robust capabilities in deep perception, human-computer interaction, and full-body motion control.
Unfazed by the bustling scene, Lingbao CASBOT robots were a hive of activity at the forum.
On the opening day of March 27th, CASBOT 01, adorned with a work permit, greeted global guests and leaders as an elegant and smooth-walking “intelligent volunteer.” Launched on November 13, 2024, CASBOT 01 is Lingbao CASBOT's first full-size bipedal humanoid robot, nicknamed “Wednesday,” and positioned as a versatile brain-like intelligent robot for multi-scenario deployment. With 52 degrees of freedom, a computing power of 550T, and an endurance time exceeding 4 hours, CASBOT 01 is a technological marvel.
At the Global Unicorn Enterprise Conference on the 30th and the Major Achievements Special Session Press Conference on the 31st, CASBOT 01 served as the “intelligent volunteer” host. Its graceful anthropomorphic walking and smooth natural language interaction captivated the entire audience, making it the undisputed king of scene control.
Notably, earlier in March this year, following a new round of funding, Lingbao CASBOT was honored as a “2025 China's Newly Emerging Future Unicorn” for its rapid commercialization progress. This is not only a dual testament to the company's technological breakthroughs and commercial value but also a closed-loop momentum for its market strategy and industrialization formation.
However, CASBOT 01's hosting debut was not its first public appearance. Previously, it had already graced the stage of CCTV, assisting host Wang Ning and participating in the launch ceremony of the “CMG World Robot Skills Competition.” Standing tall at 179cm, “Wednesday” is undeniably the most prominent among humanoid robots. Facing various complex on-site environments and ground conditions, “Wednesday” has demonstrated remarkable robustness and adaptability, underpinned by its stable and reliable body and advanced motion control algorithms.
At such an international conference, “Wednesday” not only interacted with guests from various countries in their respective languages but also engaged in a game of “rock-paper-scissors” with them. Equipped with sensors such as RGBD cameras, lidars, and IMUs, and featuring the ever-changing “Star Ring Head-Mounted Display,” it achieved a seamless trinity of vision, hearing, and action interaction with the audience.
Lingbao CASBOT's deep integration into all forum scenarios signifies that humanoid robots are diving into the depths of industrial-scale applications. The new “robot + human collaboration” hosting mode also offers a forward-looking solution for future conference and exhibition scenarios.
While CASBOT 01 was busy entertaining guests, CASBOT SE basked in the early spring sunlight, showcasing its dancing skills. This humanoid robot, used for the team's daily motion control training, could perform highly robust walking, running, and dancing movements on complex terrains, from grass to cement to asphalt roads, presenting an artistic picture of intelligent technology in harmony with nature.
Thanks to its integrated hardware and software technological prowess, CASBOT SE previously won third place in the humanoid bionic robot track race at the 2024 Zhongguancun Bionic Robot Competition Finals with its straight-knee walking method. It is reported that CASBOT SE will also participate in the first Humanoid Robot Marathon on April 13th, competing against numerous other robots.
CASBOT 01 and CASBOT SE were “busy at work” at the Zhongguancun Forum, showcasing not only Lingbao CASBOT's comprehensive technological evolution from the laboratory to industrialization but also China's active exploration and innovative practice in the industrialization of intelligent service equipment. Exploring the Future Boundaries of Humanoid Robots with Full-Stack Independent Research and Development
CASBOT 01's seamless multi-role switching at the forum is attributed to Lingbao CASBOT's adherence to the underlying technology strategy of “full-stack independent research and development.”
Lingbao CASBOT has established a full-stack independent research and development technology matrix for humanoid robots, encompassing the brain, cerebellum, body, and end effector. At the “brain” level, it adopts a hierarchical end-to-end model technology route, deeply mining the advantages of the “end-to-end embodied large model,” “segmented decision-making model,” and “teaching and imitation training skill model,” while mitigating their shortcomings. Thanks to Lingbao CASBOT's brain-side technical accumulation, CASBOT 01 possesses smarter “cognition” and more acute environmental perception capabilities. Through the training method of “from reality to virtuality, data synthesis, mixed training, and then from virtuality to reality,” CASBOT 01 exhibits intelligent decision-making and autonomous evolution capabilities.
At the motion control level, Lingbao CASBOT's “cerebellum” system innovatively integrates adversarial motion priors with the Whole-Body Control (WBC) framework, achieving precise full-body integrated control in complex dynamic environments. Based on the traditional reinforcement learning training framework, Lingbao CASBOT simultaneously trains a Generative Adversarial Imitation Learning network, where the generator and discriminator continuously engage in a game, enabling the model to generate highly anthropomorphic motion control strategies.
With a smart “brain” and a flexible “cerebellum,” what remains crucial is a stable “body” and a finely operated “end effector” to bridge the final millimeter for humanoid robots to enter the physical world.
In terms of body structure design, Lingbao CASBOT has independently developed integrated joints, including planetary, harmonic, and linear series, with a peak torque density of up to 207Nm/kg and joint efficiency exceeding 80%. The joints employ force control optimization strategies based on current or sensors, supplemented by model tracking control, utilizing technologies such as vibration suppression, inertia identification, friction compensation, and “gain self-tuning” to achieve high-precision “torque loop” control effects.
The dexterous end effector adopts a highly compact overall mechanism configuration and an integrated bionic design of the drive-transmission-sensing-control system, with a multi-source sensing system (touch-force-vision) as the design concept, combined with optimization algorithms to achieve long-sequence fine operations, overcoming the dual challenges of “dexterity” and “operation.”
Supported by an independently controllable full-stack technology base, CASBOT 01 realizes high-performance full-body integrated control and long-sequence dexterous operations, further expanding the potential frontiers of humanoid robots in industrial-grade applications.
