Huawei Mate 70's release date delayed again due to hardware and software adaptation issues!

In recent days, the buzz around Huawei Mate XT has surpassed that of iPhone 16, clearly demonstrating its higher appeal and significantly raising the starting price of Huawei phones. However, when it comes to supporting Huawei's high-end sales, Mate XT falls short, and it's Mate 70 that truly stands a chance against competitors. Given Mate XT's recent launch, it was foreseeable that Mate 70 would follow suit at a later date to allow for sales space. Nevertheless, according to the latest leaks, even that delayed release date has been pushed back further.

In fact, rumors surfaced as early as June suggesting that Mate 70 wouldn't launch in September, though no specific reasons or new dates were provided. During the Huawei Developer Conference on June 21st, Yu Chengdong announced that Mate 70 would be released in the fourth quarter of this year, with October being the most likely month considering Mate XT's nearly month-long sales window.

Regarding the so-called "hardware and software factors," I believe the main issue lies in adaptability, with software being the more significant contributor. Specifically, HarmonyOS NEXT, set to debut on Mate 70, is likely causing the delay. It's not due to any system bugs but rather software compatibility issues. Many apps, while already compatible, may not fully support all features, making the adaptation process more complex than anticipated.

Based on previous reports, HarmonyOS NEXT's initial software ecosystem covers a wide range of popular apps. However, it's worth noting that one crucial software, essential to many people's daily work and life, has yet to be fully adapted. Rest assured, complete compatibility is guaranteed; it's just a matter of time due to the sheer volume of content involved.

For a nascent system like HarmonyOS NEXT, making a strong start is crucial, even if it means delaying the launch of its flagship device. Moreover, Huawei's unique circumstances further complicate the release of key products. Frankly, even a November release aligns with Yu Chengdong's statement that Mate 70 would arrive in the fourth quarter. Additionally, optimizing HarmonyOS itself is paramount for Huawei.

Another point to consider is that since the Pura 70 series employs the Kirin 9010 chip, it stands to reason that Mate 70 won't reuse the same chipset. Instead, rumors suggest the upcoming Kirin 9100. Given no improvement in manufacturing processes, Huawei must enhance the Kirin chip's performance through system optimizations (as previously mentioned by Huawei executives), ultimately circling back to HarmonyOS. Thus, Huawei's cautious approach is understandable.

I wonder how many of you are willing to wait for the Mate 70?
