After the official announcement of the Huawei Mate 70 series, the enthusiasm continues unabated.
What everyone cares about the most is the configuration of the Huawei Mate 70 series.
Recently, at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show, Yu Chengdong, Chairman of Huawei's Terminal BG, announced that a new model from the Zunjie series will be released before the end of November, coinciding with the launch of the Mate 70 series. Regarding the specific date of the launch event, "Big Mouth Yu" inadvertently revealed that it would be on the 26th.
In fact, news had already leaked a few days earlier that Huawei's Mate 70 series would hold a launch event on November 26th. The Mate 70 series will include four models: Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS Ultra, offering users a richer selection and showcasing Huawei's new technological achievements in the high-end market.
Starting with design, the rear camera layout of the Mate 70 series will be similar to that of the previous generation Mate 50 series. This means three cameras and one sensor, symmetrically arranged within a large circular module. The center part is the flash, with the XMAGE logo printed above it.
The edges of the camera module of the Mate 70 series are likely to have a smoother transition with the back of the phone, unlike the Mate 50 series which was prone to dust accumulation. The Mate 70 RS Ultra version continues to adopt an "octagonal" design for its rear camera module, maintaining consistency with the previous generation's design language.
In terms of materials, the Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro are expected to continue using aluminum alloy frames, while the Mate 70 Pro+ will adopt titanium alloy frames for a significant improvement in texture. The Mate 70 RS Ultra version will still use a ceramic back cover.
Another noteworthy point is the new revelation about the Huawei Mate 70 series today. The Mate 70 series will adopt Visionox's new generation F1 OLED screen, delivering top-notch display performance. This Visionox F1 screen was just released in Hefei, with a design philosophy of "Foremost Super First-Class." Its main features include high efficiency, low color deviation, long lifespan, and low blue light hazard, significantly enhancing the user's visual experience.
Compared to the previous generation, the F1 screen boasts a 10% increase in energy efficiency, a 22% extension in lifespan, a 50% improvement in color accuracy, and a 10% reduction in blue light hazard. To cater to users' needs for screen brightness, this screen provides a 5% increase in display clarity in low-light environments and a substantial 30% boost in high-brightness conditions.
These improvements not only enhance picture fineness and clarity but also significantly improve visual effects under different lighting conditions, making them particularly suitable for users who use their phones for extended periods. Additionally, the Visionox F1 screen employs a 4320Hz high-frequency dimming technology and supports DC dimming, effectively reducing visual fatigue and providing users with a comfortable viewing experience.
Furthermore, the screen borders of the Huawei Mate 70 series will be further narrowed, with a 1.5K 120Hz LTPO screen expected as standard.
However, the Mate 70 standard version will feature a single punch-hole and a flat screen design, supporting only 2D facial unlocking. In contrast, the Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS Ultra versions will adopt a triple punch-hole and equal-depth quad-curved screen design, supporting 3D facial unlocking.
However, the fingerprint unlocking method for the Mate 70 series will no longer be under-screen but will instead use side fingerprint unlocking, as evidenced by the phone cases exposed online. The reason for this change is currently unknown.
As mentioned earlier, the standard version features a 1.5K flat screen, while the Pro version is expected to have a 1.5K full equal-depth quad-curved screen. All four models will come standard with the latest generation of 5G platforms and will be the first to launch with the new native HarmonyOS.
It is understood that the native HarmonyOS operating system has been fully developed in-house, from the kernel and database to programming languages and AI large models, achieving a breakthrough in core operating system technologies and truly realizing the independent controllability of domestic operating systems.
As of October 20, 2024, the number of HarmonyOS-equipped devices in the Harmony ecosystem has exceeded 1 billion. Currently, the Harmony ecosystem boasts over 15,000 applications and meta-services, covering 18 vertical fields such as office, social networking, and entertainment, and the Harmony ecosystem is rapidly expanding.
In addition, the camera configuration of the Mate 70 Pro has also been circulated online, summarized as follows—
The Mate 70 features a 1/1.5-inch variable aperture main camera and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens.
The Mate 70 Pro is equipped with a 1/1.3-inch variable aperture main camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens (1/2.5-inch, 3.5X zoom).
There are various exposés related to the camera, but their credibility is low, so take them with a grain of salt.
Incidentally, it is rumored that the Huawei Mate 70 series will be equipped with the new Kirin 9100 chip, with performance reaching the level of the second-generation Snapdragon 8.
It is reported that the performance enhancement of this Kirin chip is largely due to improved multi-exposure technology. However, these are mostly speculations at this point, and their accuracy is not high.
According to the hardware inspection information of the suspected Mate 70 prototype that was exposed, the CPU core is no longer a custom Taishan core but instead adopts Arm's public version CPU IP, including one Cortex-X1 supercore with a clock speed of 2.67GHz, three Cortex-A78 large cores at 2.32GHz, and four Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores at 2.02GHz.
As for the GPU, it adopts the same Maleoon 9000 GPU as the previous generation, with the specific number of cores unknown.
Furthermore, the performance of the NPU core is expected to be further enhanced to provide edge AI capabilities, supporting functions such as AI video, real-time translation, and text summarization.
In addition to these core configurations, the Huawei Mate 70 series will also be equipped with a high-density silicon battery, with a capacity expected to be between 5000mAh and 6000mAh. The new phone adopts a fiberglass material for its back cover and comes in various colors such as black, white, green, black, and red.
By the way, in addition to smartphones, Huawei's launch event will also introduce a series of other products, including new tablets, routers, blood pressure monitors, and headphones. Moreover, the new Zunjie S7, which debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show, will also be officially released at the event.
Finally, it is worth noting that, in addition to the product itself, everyone is also concerned about the price of the Mate 70 series, especially considering the price increases across the domestic mobile phone market this year.
According to the latest exposés, "the price of the Huawei Mate 70 series is said to be based on the previous generation, meaning no price increase."
For comparison, the previous generation Mate 60 series pricing was as follows: Mate 60 started at 5499 yuan, Mate 60 Pro at 6499 yuan, Mate 60 Pro+ at 8999 yuan, and Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultra at 11999 yuan.
Many users holding onto their money for this purchase expressed that if the above exposés are accurate, then Huawei's pricing for its flagship phone this year is still reasonable. What do you think?
That's all for now. If you have anything else to say about the latest exposés on the Huawei Mate 70, feel free to leave a comment in the comment section and join the discussion with Mingmei Infinite!
