Latest iOS 18 Beta Bug Summary, a Dose of Reality for Those Wanting to Upgrade!

The first beta version of Apple's latest iOS 18 system is believed to be being experienced by many, and of course, there are also numerous users preparing to upgrade for a taste. However, beta versions are prone to numerous issues, especially being the first developer beta, the problems encountered may be even more unexpected. Today, let's summarize the BUG issues that have been exposed online for the iOS system so far, and give those iOS device users who want to upgrade a dose of reality to calm down.

First of all, some apps fail to function normally, including crashing at any time after opening, failing to start properly, restarting automatically after using for a while, and some features in the app failing to activate. Although there are issues with app adaptation optimization not being sufficient, the system itself may also have BUGs that affect the normal use of some apps. There are also occasional issues with CarPlay functionality, which can have a significant impact on drivers.

Occasionally, the Notification Center may fail to display information normally, and using the FaceTime feature can lead to rapid heating. In fact, it's not just FaceTime that heats up quickly; other functions are likely to encounter the same issue.

During the upgrade process, there is even a possibility of encountering a white screen of death. Although the probability of encountering this issue is low, it has still occurred. Nobody can predict probabilities, and if you happen to encounter it, what a white screen of death means should be clear to Apple fans. If you haven't backed up your data in advance, it could be quite unfortunate, as this is the last thing Apple device users want to encounter.

If you are not using MFI-certified cables, there is a chance that the device may not charge. Of course, this only applies to older iPhones that do not use a USB-C port, as the iPhone 15 series with USB-C ports does not have this issue. However, for the sake of device charging safety and maintaining device longevity, it is still advisable to choose guaranteed charging accessories. After all, you've already spent a considerable amount of money, so there's no need to save on small expenses.

In addition, occasional issues such as automatic shutdown, lag, and black screens may occur. The system data storage space occupancy rate can surge unexpectedly (even though there is not actually that much data. For example, if the total device storage space is 128GB, and the actual system data occupancy is 15GB, it may show as 30GB, resulting in 15GB less usable space). Images and videos may also fail to save properly occasionally (whether you will encounter this issue is another matter).

There are also numerous issues with the Control Center, such as being unable to edit functions normally, clicking on certain functions being ineffective or unresponsive, lags and delays, and issues with receiving emails. These can significantly affect the user experience, as some apps may require email authentication during use, and certain content may also be received via email. The content displayed on the locked screen may also fail to display properly occasionally.

There are also issues with the call module (crashes and abnormal contact display), abnormal built-in album editing functionality, abnormal AirPods connection, and abnormal Shortcut settings (crashes and invalid pre-set Shortcuts). There are a plethora of other functional errors, not only affecting the system functionality experience temporarily but also the user experience of third-party apps.

Although there are so many BUG issues mentioned above with the iOS 18 beta, the developer version is intended for testing system errors and is not suitable for ordinary users. If someone insists on upgrading, they must accept the impact of system BUGs.

If you really want to experience it, at least wait until the public beta is released before trying. The developer version is not worth the trouble.
