In just 4 days, Huawei's 2024 Developer Conference will be held. Although there is a lot of content at this conference, everyone's main concern is HarmonyOS NEXT. There have been many relevant leaks online, but there are still many unsolved mysteries to be unraveled. Among them, the most important one is the ecosystem. After all, creating the system is only the first step. Talent is needed to evaluate the success or failure of the system, and the key to determining whether someone uses it is that there must be enough third-party applications for users to choose from. HarmonyOS NEXT is just starting out, and Huawei officials have announced that 5,000 apps will be launched by the end of the year, basically covering daily usage needs.
According to Apple's usual practice, the first version released after the annual developer conference is the developer beta, which is not suitable for ordinary users. However, Huawei seems to have speeded up. According to leaked information, the first Public Beta version of HarmonyOS NEXT has been packaged and is undergoing stability testing. Public Beta means that the official has skipped the developer version stage and launched a system version that ordinary users can also experience.
However, the number of devices available for experience is relatively limited, and the leaker did not use any possibility statement but directly pointed out the available devices, namely, only the Mate 60 series and Pura 70 series are available for the first public beta version of HarmonyOS NEXT. The small number of test devices does not mean that HarmonyOS NEXT is a hastily launched system. On the contrary, Public Beta indicates that the system functions are relatively complete and can accept open beta testing experiences from more users, including developers. Although some system bugs may still be encountered, they are unlikely to affect the user experience.
Why is HarmonyOS NEXT considered a purely self-developed system? Because its underlying layer completely abandons the Linux kernel and AOSP Android open-source code, using a domestic microkernel. Few manufacturers in the world can grasp the core content of an operating system in their own hands. This system was also forced out under special circumstances.
According to previous online leaks, HarmonyOS NEXT has smooth system performance, and developers seem to have not revealed any major bugs. Perhaps it is because the system functions are complete and there are no major issues, and the speed of ecological construction exceeds expectations, so the beta version will be released directly after the developer conference for users of the Mate 60 series and Pura 70 series.
Of course, with subsequent version updates, more and more devices will be able to upgrade to HarmonyOS NEXT. In fact, everyone does not hope that HarmonyOS NEXT is just an ordinary domestic operating system. They expect Huawei to reveal something interesting at the conference in a few days. I believe that Huawei will definitely have preparations in this regard.
Among you, if there are Huawei device users, don't you also want to upgrade and experience it as soon as possible?
