On June 3, Bitauto reported that Saidou Technology, an emerging auto brand, will make its official debut on June 9, delving into the boundless potential of AI-driven automobiles.

While Saidou Technology may not be a household name yet, its predecessor, Chongqing Landian Technology Co., Ltd., could be more recognizable. As a subsidiary of the Seres Group, the company underwent a significant capital increase and share expansion, raising approximately RMB 6.671 billion at the end of May this year, and was subsequently renamed Chongqing Saidou Technology Co., Ltd.

It is understood that the capital increase involved five enterprises: Shaci Zhiyuan, Yuexing Jiasheng, Wending Investment (a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL), Bojun Technology, and Xingyu Co., Ltd.

Following the capital increase and share expansion, Saidou Technology's registered capital surged from RMB 320 million to RMB 971 million. Moreover, Saidou Technology is no longer consolidated into Seres' financial statements. In terms of equity structure, Shaci Zhiyuan, controlled by Chongqing state-owned assets, now holds a 34.5% stake, making it the largest shareholder. Saihu Company follows closely with a 32.96% stake, while Yuexing Jiasheng, an employee stock ownership platform of Saidou Technology, holds a 16.48% stake. Wending Investment holds a 9.89% stake, and Bojun Technology and Xingyu Co., Ltd. hold 5.15% and 1.03% stakes, respectively.

Recently, Late Auto reported that Seres is making significant strides in preparing for the launch of a brand-new auto brand, with the legal entity being the recently renamed 'Saidou Technology'. Positioned as youthful and sporty, the new brand is slated for an official launch in June.

It is rumored that the upcoming model from Saidou Technology has forged in-depth cooperation with ByteDance's cloud service platform, Volcano Engine. This collaboration spans areas such as in-vehicle interaction large models. The extent of Volcano Engine's involvement in this partnership is expected to surpass its previous 'joint definition, joint development' model with SAIC Roewe.

According to another report by Lanjing Auto, the inaugural model from Saidou Technology is anticipated to hit the market this year. Positioned between an SUV and a sedan, it will not utilize Huawei's ADS 3.0 intelligent driving solution. Instead, it will offer both pure electric and extended-range power versions, and will be manufactured at the Seres Phoenix Factory.

As an independent new energy vehicle brand under Seres, Landian's sales performance was lackluster prior to the renaming. Do you hold high expectations for Saidou Technology following its rebranding?
