On June 4, BYD launched the final phase of name solicitation for its first D-Class flagship sedan within the Dynasty series. Lu Tian, the General Manager of BYD's Dynasty Network Sales Division, took to Weibo to announce that after several rounds of meticulous screening, six names have emerged as finalists.
The voting tally reveals that the six contenders are Dahan, Han 9, Han Ultra, Han·Tianxia, Xiaohan, and Han·Chitu.
As of the news release, a total of 1,887 individuals have cast their votes, with "Dahan" securing a commanding lead with 1,446 votes. The voting period will conclude in six days.

In truth, this naming initiative traces its roots back to the second Dynasty Ceremony held in January of this year. During the event, Lu Tian unveiled plans for the Dynasty series to introduce two new flagship models in the Series 9 lineup—a D-Class SUV and a D-Class executive sedan. He further stated that the names of these two new models would be determined through user voting.
Previous feedback indicated a divide in opinions regarding the naming of the new models. One faction advocated for names beginning with "Da" to uphold the Dynasty series' ancient allure, while the other preferred the "Series 9" nomenclature, deeming it more aligned with industry flagship standards.
Now, the naming process for the Dynasty's inaugural D-Class flagship sedan has reached its final voting stage. "Dahan" is leading by a significant margin, likely due to its simplicity, ease of recall, and commanding presence. It also complements the already released "Datang" SUV, forming a cohesive series with "Datang Dahan".
Drawing from multiple sources, this D-Class sedan from the Dynasty series, internally codenamed Series 9, boasts a length exceeding 5.1 meters and a wheelbase of approximately 3.1 meters. It is outfitted with the Easy Three-Motor System, Yunjian series intelligent chassis, megawatt-level fast charging, and advanced lidar-based intelligent driving capabilities. Available in both pure electric and DM-i plug-in hybrid dual powertrain versions, it is paired with the second-generation Blade Battery, targeting the luxury sedan market priced above RMB 300,000, directly competing with luxury models such as the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and NIO ET7.
It is reported that the actual vehicle of this model will make its debut in the first half of this year. With only six days remaining until the end of the naming voting, it is highly probable that the name will be unveiled within this month.
Regardless of whether the Dynasty's first D-Class flagship sedan is ultimately christened "Dahan," this name solicitation campaign has proven to be a successful marketing endeavor. It has not only garnered widespread market attention and effectively preheated the launch of the new car but also significantly deepened the emotional connection between consumers and the brand, making users feel like they are not just purchasing a car but also participating in the story of its creation.
In the first five months of this year, BYD's cumulative sales reached 1.405 million units, marking a 20.32% year-on-year decrease. Among these, passenger vehicle sales amounted to 1.3801 million units.
Breaking down the sales by brand, in the first five months of this year, the Dynasty series achieved cumulative sales of 556,400 units; the Ocean series reached 625,400 units; Denza sales hit 46,200 units; Fangchengbao sales stood at 123,900 units; and Yangwang sales reached 1,502 units.
