On January 9, an image circulated online, captioned "EXEED and NIO forge a powerful alliance - Introducing an innovative vehicle-battery separation model to elevate brand reputation, lower entry barriers, and propel sales." This image revealed that the jointly developed battery swap models by Chery EXEED and NIO are set to debut in the third quarter of 2025.
When queried by the media about the authenticity of this image, NIO affirmed that "cooperation on battery swapping with various brands is progressing smoothly."

As early as January 11, 2024, Chery and NIO signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Hefei, focusing on battery swapping. The agreement outlines comprehensive and multi-level strategic cooperation encompassing battery standards, battery swap technology, and the development and operation of battery swap service networks.
NIO has been a pioneer in the battery swap sector for years and has established strategic partnerships with numerous automakers, including Changan Automobile, Geely Holding Group, Chery Automobile, JAC Motors, GAC Group, FAW Group, and Lotus. As of January 3, 2025, the nation's 3,000th battery swap station had been launched.
In addition to NIO's dedication to the battery swap sector, leading battery manufacturer CATL announced its ambitious entry into the market at the Chocolate Battery Swap Ecosystem Conference in December 2024. CATL aims to establish 10,000 battery swap stations and officially unveiled the first batch of 10 cooperative battery swap models, comprising the Changan Oushang S20, GAC AION S, Hongqi E-QM5, SAIC Roewe D7, SAIC Feifan F7, SAIC MAXUS MIFA 9, MAXUS DANA, BAIC C66, Wuling Bingguo, and Wuling Xingguang.
Furthermore, it's noteworthy that according to a January 10 report by Lanjing News, Chery Automobile's relevant executives stated that the company plans to go public in 2025, with specific details to be announced in due course.
