On April 1, BYD unveiled its production and sales figures for March 2026, revealing a total monthly sales volume of 300,222 units. This impressive milestone not only surpassed the 300,000-unit threshold but also cemented BYD’s status as China’s leading automaker. Additionally, BYD has maintained its position as China’s top-selling new energy vehicle (NEV) brand for 58 consecutive months, further solidifying its dominance in the industry. As of now, BYD’s cumulative NEV sales have exceeded 15.8 million units, with 700,463 units sold in the first quarter alone. These remarkable numbers underscore its dual prowess in technology and scale, continuing to propel the industry forward through relentless innovation.

The brand’s diverse portfolio delivered stellar performance across segments, with notable progress in its high-end market positioning. The Dynasty & Ocean series emerged as the primary growth driver, contributing 262,327 units in core sales. The Fang Cheng Bao series witnessed a remarkable 222% year-on-year surge, selling 25,926 units. The Denza series recorded 7,133 units, with the second-generation Denza D9 now open for pre-orders. Meanwhile, the Yangwang series achieved 307 units in sales, marking a year-on-year increase of over 130%. Collectively, these brands cater to a wide spectrum of consumer needs, spanning household essentials, off-road capabilities, and luxury flagships, thus meeting diverse market demands.

Overseas markets witnessed explosive growth, driven by BYD’s globalization strategy. In March, overseas sales of passenger vehicles and pickups reached 119,591 units, surging 65.2% year-on-year and setting a new annual high. First-quarter overseas sales totaled 319,751 units, accounting for nearly 46% of total sales and serving as a critical pillar for sustained performance growth. The Song PLUS DM-i sold 22,531 units overseas, while the Yuan UP DM-i exceeded 3,000 units in its debut month. Production has commenced at overseas factories in Thailand, Brazil, and other regions, with the global sales and service network continuously expanding. The slogan “Made in China, Powered by Intelligence” is accelerating the global shift toward electric mobility.
Technological innovation has been a key driver of sales growth, with BYD continuously strengthening its core competitive advantages. In March, BYD introduced its second-generation Blade Battery and all-scenario flash charging technology, addressing challenges such as slow charging and low-temperature performance while setting a new global benchmark for charging speed in mass-produced vehicles. The Tian Shen Zhi Yan B (Divine Eye B) intelligent driving system was widely deployed, covering highway NOA, urban NOA, and all-scenario parking. It also introduced the industry’s first parking safety guarantee policy, redefining mid-to-high-end intelligent driving standards with dual upgrades in safety and intelligence.

From leading domestic sales to accelerating globally, and from technological breakthroughs to product popularity, BYD has constructed a comprehensive “products + technology + services” advantage centered on innovation and global expansion. Sales are projected to continue their upward trajectory in the second quarter.
