"Our ambition is to exceed expectations," declared Shao Mingfeng, Chief Brand Officer (CBO) of VOYAH, on August 15, while discussing the market aspirations of the newly introduced Pursuit S. The phrase "exceed expectations" echoes similarities with Xiaomi's YU7, and the two models are poised as direct rivals. This has led to widespread speculation that VOYAH is signaling its intent to "outperform YU7." Historically, this isn't the first instance where VOYAH has leveraged the notion of "exceeding expectations" to imply surpassing Xiaomi's YU7. Back in January, when the Pursuit S made its debut, it was marketed with three "exceed expectations" as its core selling points. The assertive nature of this strategy is unmistakable.

The YU7 currently boasts monthly sales of approximately 10,000 units, a benchmark that the Pursuit S is well-positioned to reach. Priced RMB 10,000 lower than the YU7, the Pursuit S comes equipped with Huawei's cutting-edge ADS 5.0 intelligent driving system, featuring four LiDAR sensors (including one 896-line LiDAR). Moreover, its overall configuration is more impressive, boasting an all-series 800V platform, a standard full-aluminum chassis, front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspensions, intelligent air suspension with EDC adaptive damping, and a richer array of seating and infotainment options, catering to the comfort needs of home users.

In the RMB 200,000-300,000 BEV SUV segment, only three models currently average over 10,000 monthly sales in the first half of the year, with four models hitting this milestone in July. Most models hover between 2,000-4,000 units per month. From this vantage point, the Pursuit S merely needs to surpass this sales threshold to ascend to the top tier of the market, and entering the coupe SUV market is an even more straightforward proposition. However, competition is intensifying, with upcoming models like the Luxeed RX offering comparable features. For VOYAH, the Pursuit S represents not just incremental growth but also a strategic diversification and rejuvenation of its brand and user base.

The majority of Pursuit S users are under 30 years old. Lu Fang, Chairman of VOYAH Technology, even quipped that VOYAH has finally crafted a product truly tailored for the youth. Previously, while VOYAH offered entry-level luxury products like the FREE and Pursuit, their designs leaned more towards maturity and stability. The Pursuit S marks a significant departure from VOYAH's previous offerings, breaking away from its original design language. This signifies a pivotal shift for VOYAH as it seeks to diversify and rejuvenate its brand image. Over the past two years, through models like the Dreamer and Mount Tai, VOYAH has successfully carved out a niche in the high-end market but has yet to achieve significant breakthroughs in the RMB 200,000 luxury car segment.

The Pursuit S is deemed a strategically vital model. "We aspire to achieve further milestones in the BEV market, which is why we launched the VOYAH Pursuit S," stated Lu Fang. In terms of product competitiveness, this model ranks among the industry's elite, excelling in safety, handling, and design while offering competitive pricing and policies. More crucially, at VOYAH's 2026 Ecosystem Partner Mid-Year Conference in July, the company unveiled a new ambition: to secure a top-three position in the BEV market within two years. This signals a full-throttle acceleration of VOYAH's BEV strategy.

To realize its goal of becoming a top-three luxury BEV brand, VOYAH's BEV model sales must conservatively reach at least 150,000 units. This necessitates VOYAH to more than quintuple its BEV sales from the projected 30,000 units for 2025, a formidable challenge. In the RMB 200,000+ BEV market in 2025, Tesla leads with 625,700 units sold, followed by Xiaomi with 411,800 units and NIO with 177,700 units.

Regarding this objective, Lu Fang affirmed that VOYAH has made substantial technological strides in the BEV realm, such as the early integration of 800V and 5C fast-charging technologies in mass-produced models, along with innovative technologies like hairpin motors. "In the future, we are confident in our ability to continue innovating in the BEV segment, striving to enter the top three and lead the industry," Lu Fang emphasized. Shao Mingfeng added that for VOYAH, this is an indispensable goal to achieve.

Beyond the BEV market, VOYAH executives also addressed the company's performance in the current year's market landscape. Shao Mingfeng noted that while VOYAH's sales from January to July have surged significantly faster than the overall market, "there's still a long journey ahead." VOYAH delivered 13,189 units in July and 89,453 units from January to July, marking a 31% year-on-year increase. Shao Mingfeng expressed hope that VOYAH's market trajectory will follow a path of accumulated strength leading to breakthroughs, characterized by spiral growth rather than mere fluctuations akin to an elevator ride. This is particularly pertinent in the current market climate.

He emphasized that VOYAH has consistently adhered to a long-term vision, striving to emerge as an industry leader, but further consolidation is imperative, which is what VOYAH will prioritize next. In this endeavor, he believes two elements are paramount for VOYAH: first, the continuous accumulation of brand assets. Effective methods, technologies, and platforms can expedite VOYAH's product development, but brand asset accumulation is a time-intensive process. Second, maintaining a strong connection with users. Through user engagement, VOYAH can optimize various facets of its business, including product development and operations.

This year marks a pivotal juncture in VOYAH's ascent, with the launch of a "Three Kings and an Ace" product matrix. This includes China's first mass-produced L3-level SUV, the VOYAH Mount Tai Ultra; the "courtyard-level large five-seat SUV," the VOYAH Mount Tai X8; the all-new FUV (codenamed "FE"), the Pursuit S unveiled this time; and the "industry's strongest 500,000-class MPV" (Dreamer 9), codenamed "Everest." This strategic layout aims to encompass the three mainstream segments of SUVs, FUVs, and MPVs, comprehensively bolstering the brand's competitiveness in the high-end new energy market.

This array of products not only targets sales growth but also places a greater emphasis on the high-end market, seen as a crucial sales structure adjustment to enhance VOYAH's profitability. Additionally, VOYAH is venturing into overseas markets to secure higher returns.

Lu Fang stated that VOYAH is relentlessly expanding its global footprint. This year, Dongfeng Motor Group and Stellantis Group inked a non-binding memorandum of understanding to deepen strategic cooperation and expedite global expansion. The two entities intend to establish a joint venture in Europe to oversee the sales and distribution of VOYAH vehicles in agreed European markets. Subsequently, leveraging Stellantis Group's mature channel network, local operational prowess, and global industrial resources in Europe, VOYAH will further enhance its efficiency in overseas market penetration and accelerate the establishment of an overseas expansion system encompassing brand promotion, sales services, and supply chain coordination.

This implies that with Stellantis Group's assistance, VOYAH is poised to swiftly penetrate new markets, transform its current profit structure, and achieve more diversified growth drivers.
