On August 17, Geely Automobile made a pivotal announcement, unveiling significant changes to its management team. The primary impetus behind these management adjustments is Geely Automobile's commitment to further optimizing the delegated management framework for professional managers, thereby fostering the company's enduring and robust growth. Notably, Geely Automobile's founder, Li Shufu, has also undergone a role transformation.
Effective August 18, 2026, Li Shufu will step down as both Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Geely Automobile Holdings Limited, assuming the esteemed position of Lifetime Honorary Chairman. Concurrently, he will retain his role as Chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. An Conghui, CEO of Geely Holding Group, will succeed Li Shufu as Chairman of the Board of Geely Automobile Holdings Limited.

Li Donghui will relinquish his role as Vice Chairman of the Board of Geely Automobile Holdings Limited, though he will continue to serve as an Executive Director. Gui Shengyue, the current Chief Executive Officer, will maintain his Executive Director status and additionally assume the role of Vice Chairman of the Board. Gan Jiayue will step into the position of Chief Executive Officer of Geely Automobile Holdings Limited, overseeing the company's day-to-day operations.
This marks the second high-profile management shakeup at Geely Automobile within the month of August. Earlier, on August 2, Yang Xueliang, Senior Vice President of Geely Holding Group, announced substantial internal restructuring at Geely Automobile Group. The reorganization includes the establishment of a Sales Headquarters, encompassing six key organizational units: Galaxy Sales Company, China Star Sales Company, Lynk & Co Sales Company, and Zeekr Sales Company. Senior Vice President Lin Jie will helm the Sales Headquarters and concurrently serve as General Manager of Zeekr Sales Company. Fan Junyi will be appointed Executive Deputy General Manager of the Sales Headquarters and General Manager of Lynk & Co Sales Company, with additional oversight of Galaxy Sales Company. Wang Bo will take the helm as General Manager of China Star Sales Company, while Guan Jiuyang will serve as Executive Deputy General Manager of Galaxy Sales Company.

These personnel changes underscore Geely Automobile's commitment to leveraging a modern corporate governance structure to fortify and expand the 'One Geely' initiative. This strategic vision, first articulated by Geely Holding Group in the 'Taizhou Declaration' in September 2024, aims to bolster overall competitiveness through internal resource integration and synergy.
The 'One Geely' strategy has already yielded impressive results for Geely Automobile in terms of sales volume and revenue. In 2025, for instance, Geely Holding Group achieved a total sales volume of 3.02 million units, surpassing the revised target of 3 million units and marking a 39% year-on-year increase. Total revenue soared to 345.2 billion yuan, a 25% year-on-year increase, setting a new historical benchmark. Core net profit attributable to shareholders reached 14.41 billion yuan, reflecting a 36% year-on-year increase.

In the first half of 2026, Geely Automobile's total sales volume exceeded 1.42 million units, setting a new record for the same period. Total revenue surpassed 170 billion yuan, a 15% year-on-year increase, also setting a new historical high. Net profit attributable to shareholders reached 9.68 billion yuan, a 46% year-on-year increase. Thanks to the deepening implementation of the 'One Geely' strategy, the administrative expense ratio decreased by 0.2 percentage points year-on-year, and the R&D investment ratio decreased by 0.3 percentage points in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, R&D expenses increased by 8% year-on-year, and the sales expense ratio remained unchanged compared to the first half of 2025.
Particularly noteworthy is Geely Automobile's outstanding performance in overseas markets in the first half of this year, with cumulative sales volume reaching 474,000 units, a 158% year-on-year increase. It ranked third in exports among Chinese automakers and first in growth among mainstream automakers. Currently, Geely Automobile has revised its overseas sales target for 2026 from 640,000 units to 920,000 units, with the ambition of achieving annual overseas sales of one million units.

In the European market, Volvo's European factory is poised to become a pivotal hub for Geely's European strategy, with high-end models within the Geely Group slated to commence production at Volvo's European facility in 2028.
