The sales figures for new energy vehicle brands in the Chinese market during the first week of 2025 have been unveiled, showcasing a dramatically different landscape from the 2024 rankings. Here’s a closer look at the surprises!
Firstly, BYD's sales totaled 36,500 units, a sharp contrast to its weekly sales exceeding 100,000 units in 2024. This decline is attributed to BYD's robust sales performance last year, making the subdued start to 2025 understandable. Expectations are high for an upturn in sales during the second week, coinciding with the pre-Spring Festival car-buying peak.
Secondly, Xpeng secured second place with 7,000 units sold, followed closely by Yinhe in third with 6,900 units. Lixiang and Geely took fourth and fifth positions, selling 6,700 and 6,400 units, respectively.
The top five rankings have undergone significant shifts. Xpeng, Yinhe, and Geely have surged into the elite group, with Xpeng achieving runner-up status for the first time. We eagerly anticipate Xpeng maintaining this upward trajectory.
Thirdly, while some brands shone, others struggled. Wuling and Tesla each sold 5,500 units, placing them seventh and eighth, respectively. Both have fallen out of the 10,000-unit club and the top five rankings. This is an unpromising start to 2025, but it's anticipated that both automakers will rebound in the second week.
Fourthly, Wenjie sold 6,100 units, ranking sixth, which represents a relatively stable sales volume and position. Fifthly, both Zeekr and Xiaomi made the list, with sales of 5,000 and 4,600 units, respectively. However, Zero Run and Deep Blue Automobile failed to make the cut.
In conclusion, these are the new energy vehicle sales rankings for the first week of 2025. What are your thoughts on the performance of these automakers? Share your insights in the comments below!
