Is the Site Abandoned? A Blogger’s Firsthand Exploration of Jia Yueting’s Faraday Future Facility

On July 1st, blogger '6GHz' shared a video documenting a visit to Faraday Future’s former factory location in Los Angeles.

The footage reveals a deserted campus, with numerous sizable gaps in the walls. Much of the office buildings and production workshops have been dismantled, and it seems someone is engaged in metal recycling on-site. Scattered around the factory are original FF91 wheel rims, brake pads, water pumps, and other vehicle parts. Mortgage agreements and legal papers are also visible on the ground.

Interestingly, the office blackboard still displays a mix of Chinese and English phrases, such as "Chinese EV," "BYD," "joint venture," and "vehicle mechanics."

The blogger also highlighted a key point: All promotional videos released by Jia Yueting from 2023 to April 2025 were filmed at this location. One video, showcasing the interior driving experience of the FF91, merely depicted the vehicle circling the factory parking lot several times.

In response, 'Super Perspective' reported that Faraday Future’s internal statement refuted the claim of abandonment, stating that a complaint has been lodged. An insider clarified that the blogger filmed Faraday Future’s former headquarters in Los Angeles, which relocated to a new office area in March of this year, with the factory situated in Hanford.

Reflecting on the past, Faraday Future’s current predicament was foreseeable. In 2014, Jia Yueting announced a high-profile foray into car manufacturing, aiming to outdo Tesla and produce top-tier luxury electric vehicles. The narratives in the presentations were grand, and funding flowed in consistently. However, the FF 91, initially slated for delivery the year after 2017, didn’t reach customers until 2023.

In 2023, after finally delivering 10 FF91 units, all of them, including Jia Yueting’s personal vehicle, were recalled due to airbag malfunctions. By May 2026, cumulative deliveries of the FF91 remained below 20 units.

In 2025, Faraday Future reported an annual revenue of just $540,000, with an operating loss of $331 million. Given these financial constraints, sustaining the car manufacturing project, often dubbed a 'money pit,' presents a significant challenge.

On May 11th of this year, Faraday Future announced its transition to an 'American Physical AI Ecosystem Enterprise,' with Jia Yueting reassuming the role of Global CEO after seven years, shifting the business focus entirely toward embodied intelligent robots. Official figures indicate that as of April 30, 2026, Faraday Future has delivered a cumulative total of 68 EAI robots.

According to the company’s plans, Faraday Future aims to ship over 1,000 EAI robots in 2026 while maintaining positive unit gross margins.

Regarding the continuation of car manufacturing, the aforementioned source stated, 'The automotive business remains operational, but the company’s primary focus is currently on FF AI robots.'

Faraday Future’s journey commenced with a grand vision for car manufacturing in 2014 and pivoted to robots in 2026. The success of the robot venture remains uncertain, as it is still in its infancy. Nevertheless, in the blogger’s footage, at the conclusion of the previous chapter, the FF sign still stands at the entrance, but the interior lies vacant, with only a few wheel rims and a half brake pad remaining.
