Recently, Yutong Optics has been making frequent moves, completing two key strategic actions within a month. First, Shenzhen Yutong Optical Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd. was registered and established on July 7, followed by the official inauguration of Yutong Optics Japan Co., Ltd. in Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo on July 24.

From domestic production capacity layout to overseas R&D outposts, this optical company, which holds over 40% of the global market share in security lenses, is sending a signal to the market: its strategic transformation from security to optical communication and from manufacturing scale to technology-driven growth has entered an accelerated phase.
According to Qichacha information, the legal representative of Shenzhen Yutong Optical Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd. is He Minchao, and its business scope covers the manufacture and sales of optical instruments, the manufacture and retail of electronic components, and the manufacture and sales of optoelectronic devices. Equity penetration shows that the company is jointly held by Dongguan Yutong Precision Optics Co., Ltd. and natural persons such as He Minchao, Zhang Yuanying, Dai Disen, and Chen Xiaobo, with Dongguan Yutong Precision Optics Co., Ltd. being the largest shareholder.
Since 2026, Yutong Optics has been progressively laying out its presence in the optical communication field: in February, Yutong Optical Intelligence Micro-Nano was established, officially entering the micro-nano optics field; in May, Yutong Precision Optics was established, focusing on core optical components related to optical communication; in the same month, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed with Shenzhen Lubang Optics to collaborate in areas such as precision optical devices, DOE products, and optical transmission. The establishment of Shenzhen Yutong Optical Interconnect means that Yutong Optics has made another move in the optical interconnect Track (translated as "sector" for clarity), and an industrial chain closed loop (translated as "closed loop" for clarity) from micro-nano optics to precision components and then to system-level optical interconnect solutions is taking shape.
If the new company in Shenzhen represents horizontal expansion of production capacity and market, then the inauguration of the Tokyo subsidiary is a vertical strategic positioning. On July 24, the inauguration ceremony of Yutong Optics Japan Co., Ltd. was held in Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Yutong Optics has clearly proposed three strategic dimensions: enhancing core competitiveness, shifting from product output to joint technology research and standard co-construction; strengthening R&D capabilities, using the Japanese subsidiary as an overseas frontier R&D pivot to deeply align with international first-class optical design concepts and manufacturing standards; and accelerating global layout, using Japan as a strategic hub to more deeply integrate into the global precision optics industrial chain.
In fact, as early as August 2025, Yutong Optics had announced its intention to use its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yuhao Technology (Hong Kong) International Co., Ltd., as the investment entity to establish a wholly-owned Japanese subsidiary with 30 million yen. The process from announcement to inauguration took nearly a year, reflecting its prudence and determination in overseas R&D layout.
Behind these series of strategic moves is solid performance support. The 2025 annual report shows that Yutong Optics achieved annual revenue of 3.382 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.27%; net profit attributable to shareholders was 246 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.09%; and net profit after deducting non-recurring items was 243 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 52.18%.

From a business structure perspective, security-related businesses remain the main revenue driver, but emerging businesses such as automotive and new consumer market categories are growing rapidly, and a diversified revenue structure has opened up greater growth potential for the company.
From an industry perspective, Yutong Optics has been the global leader in security lens shipments for ten consecutive years, with a global market share of 41.40% in 2024. However, the slowdown in the growth rate of the security sector is an undeniable fact. How to maintain its core business while finding second and third growth curves is a question that this industry leader must answer.
Of course, risks cannot be ignored. The optical communication business is currently in its early stages, and apart from glass lenses that have been scheduled for production and shipment, other products are undergoing technical dock (translated as "integration" for clarity) and small-scale sample evaluations with industrial chain companies, and have not yet achieved mass production. In addition, the company's accounts receivable balance at the end of 2025 reached 1.189 billion yuan, a 39.53% increase from the beginning of the period, and the inventory balance at the end of the period was 804 million yuan, a 38.54% increase from the beginning of the period. The financial pressure during the expansion period warrants continuous attention.
From Dongguan to Shenzhen, from China to Japan, Yutong Optics is using actions to demonstrate the transformation determination of a leading Chinese optical company from "scale leadership" to "technology leadership." The market will take time to verify whether this path can succeed, and OFweek Optics will continue to track its progress.
